Job Title: Manufacturing Associate I

Location: Brooklyn Park, MN

About the role:

You will perform daily manufacturing operations according to SOP's in a cGMP environment. You will operate biologics production equipment (bioreactors, filtration units, chromatography systems and fixed/portable vessels). You will accomplish validation protocols and create or revise cGMP documents. You will report to the Manufacturing Supervisor.

24x7 operation with multiple shifts days, nights and weekends.

How you will contribute:

  • With general management or guidance you will assemble and operate biologics production equipment, such as bioreactors, filtration units, chromatography systems and fixed/portable vessels.
  • You will perform process steps and manufacturing support activities by monitoring process parameters in batch record and control systems.
  • You will document cGMP data for processing steps and equipment activities while following standard operating procedures. Key documentation includes batch records, work orders, and equipment logbooks.
  • You will build batch records and validation protocols under guidance/direction of others.
  • You will perform inventory transactions in SAP and data entry into LIMS.
  • You will stock production and cleaning supplies and perform cleaning/sanitizing production rooms and equipment.

What you bring to Takeda

  • Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering; or Associate's degree in science-related area and 1 or more years of relevant experience; or High school diploma or GED and 3 or more years of relevant experience.
  • You will have experience in a regulated environment.
  • You will have understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • You will be familiar or experience with cGMP within Biotech or Pharmaceutical operations.
  • You will have knowledge of non-manufacturing functions such as QC, Regulatory, QA, or Materials Management.

Knowledge, competencies and skills:

  • You will have understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • You will be familiar or experience with cGMP within Biotech or Pharmaceutical operations.
  • You will have knowledge of non-manufacturing functions such as QC, Regulatory, QA, and/or Materials Management.

  • Work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.
  • Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.
  • Work in a cold, wet environment.
  • Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.
  • Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.
