Senior Financial Analyst

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for Actuals, LBEs, Plans, and LRPs, managing spend of ~$158MM in support of Building and Grounds, Ops Bay Area, Soft Services, and Housekeeping within the Operations’ Central Services organization.  The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills with both finance and non-finance personnel, a strong interest in Operations and their related impacts on financial reporting, and the drive to enable and encourage continuous improvement. 

 Responsibilities:

·       Partner and lead Business Unit’s budgeting for Plan, Update, LBE and LRP processes in alignment with Operations and Corporate requirements

·       Manage the month-end close cycle, effectively partnering with the business to align, anticipate and understand financial implications of business decisions.

·       Responsible for capital and related depreciation analytics for Lake County facilities

·       Work cross functionally to ensure journal entries and reconciliations are GAAP and company policy compliant, properly supported with clear documentation, and easy to understand. 

·       Supports allocation charges by calculating, issuing, monitoring assessment process.  Working with businesses to gain approval/understanding of charges.

·       Partner with FSS to understand and analyze lease accounting specific to Lake County buildings to ensure accurate reporting across Operations’ P&L and Balance Sheet

·       Provide various ad-hoc analysis to support decision making as requested.


·       Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance. CPA and/or MBA preferred.

·       5 + years of accounting or finance experience with emphasis in FP&A

·       Ability to effectively present information to senior level leadership and to work as part of a cohesive team.

·       Firm understanding of AbbVie’s financial policies (CFMs), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and internal controls.

·       Demonstrated analytical capabilities and the ability to effectively contribute to the decision-making process.

·       Must be able to manage multiple priorities and quickly adapt to changes.

·       Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills

·       Proficient in business applications, TM1, SAP, BPC, HFM, Excel and PowerPoint

·       Continuous sitting for prolonged periods

·       Previous FP&A roles in pharmaceutical/healthcare manufacturing strongly preferred.
