Senior Scientist, Computational Biology – Tumor Immune Microenvironment Research
Introduction:
The Genomic Research Center, Computational Oncology, Research and Early Development group (GRC-CORED) at AbbVie is seeking a highly motivated computational biologist to play an integral role in a multi-disciplinary team focused on developing new therapies and approaches for cancer treatment. AbbVie’s GRC is a center of excellence for bioinformatics, functional genomics, human genetics, and pharmacogenomics. The GRC works across all R&D including discovery and clinical development, and multiple areas such as process sciences, global epidemiology, search and evaluation, and corporate strategy.
Role Overview:
This is an exceptional opportunity within a cross-functional group at AbbVie. The position is focused on discovering basic biology to advance AbbVie Immuno-Oncology pipeline but also involves supporting existing AbbVie programs. With a goal to better understand anti-tumor immune responses against cancer, this role aims to facilitate drug discovery. You will be engaged in characterizing immune microenvironments of solid tumors utilizing various genomics platforms from internal and external sources. These platforms and tools include, but not limited to, spatial/single-cell transcriptomics, proteomics and as well as cutting-edge analysis algorithms. The expertise you bring in and develop here, will have the opportunity to influence drug discovery in a data-driven manner and to ultimately make an impact on patients’ lives. While contributing to AbbVie pipeline, you will have multiple opportunities to publish and disseminate some of the learnings. This role will be located at AbbVie’s new campus at the heart of South San Francisco, CA with access to State-of the-Art scientific capabilities and a great Work/Life balance.
