The Role

Moderna is seeking an Associate Director, Forecasting & Analytics, who will lead development and communication of country and global forecasts of inline and late-stage pipeline assets to help drive strategic and operational decisions.

This role will work as a critical member of the Global Commercial Operations (GCO) team to address critical business issues, explore opportunities for growth, and help optimize investments in collaboration with colleagues from market research, competitive intelligence, and commercial analytics teams as well as with various cross-functional partners.

The individual in this role will utilize a range of broad and diverse skill sets, which include strong functional forecasting expertise, diverse therapeutic area knowledge, excellent communication skills, cross-functional team influencing abilities and drive critical decision making.

Heres What Youll Do

  • Lead the development and implementation of forecast models to produce short-term and long-term global revenue forecasts for in-market products and products in late stage development

  • Collaborate with members of GCO and other cross-functional teams to address critical business needs and priorities, gain alignment on forecast assumptions / data sources and deliver impactful results

  • Triangulate opportunity assessments, and evaluate risk factors (what-if scenarios) to facilitate critical decision making

  • Facilitate and drive strategic decision making with senior leadership by synthesizing and presenting forecasts and resulting implications in a timely manner

  • Track forecast accuracy periodically and drive continuous improvements in forecast models, methodology and data sources

Heres What Youll Need (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelors degree in scientific, quantitative, business, or other relevant fields with 8+ years of pharmaceutical forecasting, market research and/or management consulting experience or a Masters degree in scientific, quantitative, business, or other relevant fields with 5+ years of pharmaceutical forecasting, market research and/or management consulting experience

  • Experience developing and using Excel-based models and conducting quantitative analysis

  • Expertise in forecasting methodologies and uncertainty analyses, e.g., Monte Carlo simulation

  • Experience creating and operating sales forecasts based on multiple methodologies, e.g., epidemiology based, units based, etc., for pipeline and in-market products.
