Job Description

About the role:
  • Head of Master Data Management (MDM) will lead Enterprise Data Services (EDS) MDM program and projects across multiple domains. This includes the architecture, design, development, execution, and maintenance of a total MDM program. This position will ensure that the MDM program aligns with EDS other data management & governance practices including Data Quality, Metadata Management, Policies and Procedures, Data Access Rights, and Data Literacy. It will also coordinate the communication and collaboration of all Data Stewards, Data Owners, Engagement team, MDM Stakeholders, and leadership across Enterprise.
  • Lead, deliver and operationalize the multi-domain approach to Master Data Management (MDM) Strategy and partner with business and IT leaders
  • Create and develop with the business Global Data Models and Functional Specifications for MDM
  • Provide leadership to Takeda for master data management across all domains at senior levels of the organization and partner with Takeda leadership and external partners in building the roadmap for MDM and digital disruption and innovation driving business value

Job Description:
  • Serve as a Head of Master Data for Enterprise Data Services MDM program and be responsible for setting short-term and long-term MDM strategy, developing the Multi-Domain MDM capability roadmap, providing guidance in day-to-day MDM operations, and ensuring project milestones and department performance goals are met.
  • Identify and collaborate effectively with MDM partners and stakeholders to align on priorities, and provide project leadership ensuring high-quality deliverables, process improvement, budgets, and timely responses to business requests and operational challenges
  • Ensure business requirements for Master Data are clearly defined, well documented, communicated and understood. Partner with IT and system integration vendors to lead the development of new functionalities as well as change management in MDM to address key business challenges.
  • Aggregating business demand and consolidate requests as appropriate to ensure that use cases are appropriately prioritized
  • Responsibility for the alignment and evolution of the EDS MDM information architecture, data models, taxonomies, glossaries and ontologies, lineage, and the application of those models in solution design and implementation
  • Leading the discussions on future MDM program planning including short-term and long-term milestones with Business Units and Enterprise
  • Influence and drive domain and mdm practice discussions, including the Global Data Council (GDC) and the Strategic Steering Committee

Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise (Breadth and depth of knowledge, application and complexity of technical knowledge)

  • Domain knowledge of Data, Digital and Technology organizations within pharmaceuticals or related industries
  • Pharmaceutical data expertise a must in particular commercial data, Health Care Provider (HCP/HCO) and their linkages/relationships
  • Track records in managing complex supplier and/or customer relationships
  • Optimize data capabilities, processes, and skills to ensure services are operated, monitored, supported, and maintained to best practice standards, aligned to enterprise data service requirements and technology/ business strategy.
  • Lead and support the latest Master Data Management best practices, principles, and processes.

  • Effectively communicate with varying levels of management i.e. GDT/DDT Executives, GDT/DDT Project Managers, Supplier Representatives, etc.

  • Coordinate, manage and complete primary tasks and special projects with minimal oversight

  • Must be able to develop and maintain strong relationships globally
  • Ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels support the Data Governance Committees and facilitates strategic and operational meetings and agendas to drive decision making.
  • Ability to influence in a highly federated governance model as a facilitator.
  • Ability to engage cross-functional stakeholders across the broader organization to build common understanding and shared objectives
  • Experience of budget management, team leadership of international cross functional teams in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Ability to apply advanced principles and concepts necessary to oversee various data governance workgroups

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a related or directly relevant field
  • Minimum 8 years of leadership experience with Master Data Management products (e.g., Informatica, SAP MDG, Reltio).
  • Minimum 12 years leading and managing local and remote teams
  • Related leadership experience with Cloud Technology, Mobile Solutions, SAP technologies
  • Expertise in setting Data Services / Solutions strategies and vision
  • Program / Project Management experience.
  • Experienced technology expert, strategic change leader and problem-solver.
  • This role can be hybrid in Cambridge, or remote
