Sr. Research Associate II, Analytical Operations

Essential Duties and Job Functions:
  • Serve as a project coordinator for compendial review program, provide support to SMEs for identification, assessment, and implementation of pharmacopeia changes
  • Track pharmacopeia publication schedules and initiate review process for identification, assessment, and implementation of pharmacopeia changes
  • Create, revise, and complete quality records in QMS (i.e. CAPAs, change management, etc.) for review, evaluate, and implement compendial changes which may result in changes to procedures, processes, or systems used by Gilead Sciences
  • Communicate and coordinate with responsible personnel and groups to drive completion of pharmacopeia review process
  • Assist in developing tools and technologies to standardize and streamline the process
  • Support SMEs to assess compendial changes to determine the impact to internal procedures, processes, or systems
  • Support SMEs/document owners to revise impacted documents/process to align with pharmacopeia changes
  • Work with SMEs to create work instructions or business enabling documents to increase process efficiency and compliance


Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Thorough understanding of pharmacopeias and supplements such as USP-NF, Ph. Eur., JP, ChP, etc.
  • Working knowledge of cGMP, compliance, and industry standards
  • Experience/knowledge in project management and multi-tasking
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and work effectively with people from a wide range of skill levels and experience
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
  • Effective time management skills and organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to clearly and concisely present to multiple internal audiences


Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Biology or a related scientific discipline with 4+ years; or Masters degree with 2+ years of relevant experience in biotech/pharmaceutical industry


The salary range for this position is: $104,125.00 - $134,750.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
