Director, Decision Science Marketing Insights and Orchestration

The Role

As the Director of Decision Science - Marketing Insights and Orchestration, you will lead a team of data scientists and operations researchers to optimize business operations and improve efficiency across the organization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams in pursuit of seamlessly optimize and operationalize dynamic targeting models within the commercial and field medical space. You will identify opportunities to leverage operations research techniques to improve business outcomes. You will oversee the end-to-end process, from problem formulation and data collection to deployment, and be responsible for ensuring the team meets production deadlines and delivers a best-in-class product in targeting and orchestration.

Heres What Youll Do

• Lead marketing and sales orchestration that coordinates Modernas commercial activities across digital platforms and campaigns across all communication channels to create a personalized experience to our customers.

• Coordinate and manage systems applications to optimally execute communication workflows.

• Mathematically optimize cross-channel interactions, targeting dynamics, cadence and target selection.

• Key interface between the data science team and external digital partners, communication agencies and other consultants.

• Lead a cross-functional team from various organizational areas that includes medical and commercial operations, marketing, legal/regulatory and IT as well as external stakeholders ranging from consulting partners to agencies and digital partners.

• Guide the data exchange program between Moderna and our digital partners.

• Continuously improve model performance.

• Develop scalable solutions to enhance speed to market for multiple countries and products.

• Apply stratified A/B testing and analyze/publish the results.

• Develop and maintain a market insights and orchestration roadmap that aligns with business goals and objectives.

• Be an integral part of defining and implementing data governance policies and processes to ensure data quality, security, and privacy.

• Drive innovation in operation research and data science by keeping up to date with the latest techniques and tools in the field.

• Mentor and develop team members to build a high-performing and collaborative team culture.

• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and successful delivery of data solutions.

Heres What Youll Need (Minimum Qualifications)

• Master's degree or PhD in Operations Research, Data Science or related field.

• A minimum of eight years of experience in Operations Research or related field (with a Masters degree), with at least 3 years of experience leading and managing a team OR a minimum of five years of experience in Operations Research or related field (with a PhD), with at least 3 years of experience leading and managing a team.

• A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.

• Experience working with large-scale data sets, data pipelines, and data architectures.

• Programming experience in languages such as Python, R, Scala, etc.

• Experience working in an agile development environment.

• Demonstrated knowledge of developing and deploying optimization algorithms including linear and non-linear programming, evolutionary optimization, sensitivity analysis, network modeling, goal programming and multiple objective optimizations.

• Big data experience is a plus.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Experience working in a matrixed environment.
