Sr Assoc Scientist - Viral Delivery Technologies

We seek a talented and motivated Senior Associate Scientist to join the Viral Delivery Technologies group within Regeneron Genetics Medicine (RGM), an organization that focuses on the development of next-generation gene therapies. The R&D Specialist will play an integral role within the virus production team to fulfill internal demand for research-grade viral vectors. This role is essential for designing and producing viral vectors and characterizing them by performing various in vitro assays. This is a fully on-site role.

As an Sr Associate Scienstist in RGM’s Viral Delivery Technologies, a typical day might include the following:

• Maintaining, transfecting, and transducing mammalian cell cultures
• Handling and organizing large quantities of tissue culture plates
• Maintaining inventory of plasmids and reagents required for virus production
• Producing, purifying, quantifying, and characterizing viral vectors
• Refining existing and developing new protocols for virus production and purification
• Developing new assays to characterize and assess the quality of viral vectors
• Evaluating in vivo virus transduction and transgene expression
• Manipulating viral vectors in BSL2 cell culture
• Analyzing and communicating data and maintaining lab supplies and helping with lab organization

To be considered eligible for this opportunity, you must have a BS/MS in molecular biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, or a related field with 3-5 years of proven experience. Experience with mammalian tissue culture, and purification of viruses in BSL2 conditions is required. We prefer experience with but are willing to provide training on ultracentrifugation, TFF, the execution of protein gels and western blots for sample quality evaluation, and viral efficacy testing. You will also gain exposure to process optimization efforts and participate in automation development processes on Qiagen platforms.
