Sr. UI/UX Designer

The Role

Moderna is seeking a Sr. UI/UX Designer who will be responsible for working to deliver software solutions as part of a scrum team to support Moderna's clinical development and manufacturing operations, including Personalized mRNA Cancer Vaccine (PCV). As a Moderna software designer, you will work directly with users to understand requirements and then work with your team to design, develop, deploy, and maintain custom software solutions.

The Clinical Informatics team is expanding a suite of custom applications focused on clinical trial design digitization to enable end to end forecasting + execution capabilities. You will have the opportunity to work with our Data Science & AI team to integrate their algorithms into production applications used by Moderna internally to model, plan, optimize, and execute our clinical trial pipeline in order to accelerate humanity's access to new mRNA medicines.

Heres What Youll Do

• Work closely with clients, product owners, and key stakeholders to understand business needs.

• Partner with our digital engineering team to develop innovative and intuitive full-stack TypeScript/JavaScript web applications that will transform business processes.

• Own and maintain a comprehensive style guide, icon library, and component design inventory.

• Deploy and improve applications in a constantly evolving Cloud environment.

• Monitor and analyze user experience and interaction to drive continuous improvement.

• Drive digital design strategy using best practices for a large portfolio of web applications.

• Contribute to many different projects in a dynamic, fast-moving, agile environment.

Heres What Youll Need (Minimum Qualifications)

• BS/BA degree in Design, Fine Arts, Computer Science or equivalent with 6 years of experience in a UI/UX Designer role; a combination of education and experience may be considered.

• Experience with modern modeling tools such as Axure, Figma, or similar.

• A demonstrable portfolio of past application and web design work.

• Experience creating beautiful, accessible, intuitive, and responsive end user experiences.

• Experience creating early phase design artifacts such as wireframes, workflow diagrams, design specifications, and story boards.

Heres What Youll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)

• Experience working in Life Sciences, pharma/biotech, or related scientific field.

• Experience using Github/Bitbucket Pull Requests.

• Experience with Angular ^10, HTML, JavaScipt.

• Experience with the Agile operational practices.

• Experience documenting technical systems and user workflows.

• Experience communicating with application users to understand and collect their requirements and requests.
