Purpose:

As the Sr. IT Product Manager – Business of BTS, you will be a key contributor in the establishment of a Product Model for our Project Portfolio Management Tools.  Work with our vendors and team structure to establish an Agile Product Framework.  This role will create and maintain the product backlog(s), provides the requirements for the release scheduling, and annual product funding needs. The product manager participates throughout the agile process by answering questions as they arise.

The Sr. IT Product Manager - PPM Technology Operations emphasizes “face-to-face” conversations and test cases to promote collaboration and keeps the teams aligned in their focus.  The product team will emphasize demonstrable features with our PPM Core Team as the primary measure of tracking progress. This role will establish Product roadmaps and strategy for the PPM Technology Operations team.

The successful candidate must have exceptional drive for creating great user experiences. We are looking for a proven ability to execute both strategically and tactically, and someone who is excited to take on new projects that will be industry defining. This position requires a data-driven and automation mindset. 

Responsibilities:

Mission: Execute on the long-term vision for our PPM product, Clarity. Take internal and external user needs and develop an annual product road map to address the current and future needs of our customers

Set clear goals and success metrics to align with AbbVie’s IT PPM mission and deliver maximum impact

Communicate priorities, risks, and decisions across a wide spectrum of audiences, from partner teams to executive levels

Influence: Actively promote and demonstrate the value of Clarity.

Provide ongoing expertise on PPM methods, practices and related subjects. Research and stay informed about industry/practice trends and best practices and communicate within BTS. Network and build relationships with other PMOs teams within BTS-BTOs and AbbVie.

Impact: Drive and make decisions that influence the financial, resourcing and cultural impacts to BTS and AbbVie related to Clarity Portfolio Management. Establish measures for monitoring success of the Product Lifecycle and making data driven decisions within the context of the PPM toolset. Actively participate on, and align with, strategic programs that involve BTS operating model, strategy, and organization agility.

Qualifications 

• Bachelor's Degree with 7 years’ experience; in Agile product management, project management, process improvement, business systems analysis, software development or deployment, with experience managing projects.
• Proven ability to communicate and deliver results, actions, decisions, and concerns with little direction or supervision in a timely manner.
• Demonstrated success as a collaborative team player; broad, diverse, cross-functional or cross-divisional experience, and ability to facilitate formal and ad hoc team meetings and build consensus and influence change.
• Practical or data-driven experience with Portfolio Project Management tools, Power BI and or other analytics products.
• Demonstrated experience leading and working with cross-functional teams.
• Strong leadership with attention to detail and desire to excel with any project.
• Experience leading post-launch optimizations, including developing testing strategies.
• Ability to think strategically and creatively.
• Clarity product management experience is strongly preferred.
• Product Owner for enterprise system is a must.
