Lonza Tampa, is looking to hire a Research Chemist II to perform scientific experiments with a medium-high level of technical difficulty and a medium-low level of supervision as well as to work cross functionally within the organization to provide analytical and technical support to facilitate the successful completion of development projects.
Key Accountabilities:
-
Perform scientific duties as assigned in a timely manner.
-
Handle math calculations by being able to calculate: percentages, free acid/base equivalents from a salt, and work with equations necessary for daily assignments.

Follow company written policies and procedures including all appropriate SOP’s and maintain an appropriate training level.

Maintain clean and safe laboratory work environment by understanding and following compliance regulations.

Maintain a positive, professional and confidential relationship with internal and external clients.
-
Able to work on several different projects at the same time and meet all project deadlines as needed.

Perform additional duties assigned as the need arises.
Key Requirements:
-
BS degree in Chemistry strongly preferred; Extensive experience may substitute for educational requirements.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations required.

Ability to identify problems, collect data, and establish facts and discuss possible solutions.
-
Ability to follow technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
-
Ability to work on multiple projects and meet all project deadlines as needed.

Communicate with supervisor on status of projects daily required.
-
Strong written, presentation, and oral communication skills required.

Strong ability to read and interpret technical documents such as Operations manuals, Master Batch Records, Protocols, Standard Operating Procedures. Strong technical writing ability required in order to produce routine reports, equipment qualification protocols, master batch records, etc. Ability to speak effectively before groups

Strong mathematical and computer skills.
