The Team 

The Alloy Genetic Medicines group is innovating a novel RNA-based drug discovery platform spanning the fields of antisense therapeutics to immunomodulating therapeutics. The team provides partners access to Alloy’s proprietary RNA drug discovery platform to advance their genetic medicines to clinic. 

 

The Role 

As a Research Associate/Associate Scientist, you will work within the Genetic Medicine team to develop a novel nucleic acid drug development platform. You will also collaborate with internal/external partners on nucleic acid drug discovery projects to ensure timely execution of the experiments, and delivery of high-quality data. This role requires a self-starting behavior with an enthusiasm and passion to make medicines. This role will have an autonomy owning various stakeholders, projects, and tasks in a dynamic start-up environment while keeping up the pace of Alloy. This is you! 

 

How You’ll Drive Impact 

  • Innovate: Develop novel assays to elucidate the mechanism of action of novel ASO/ISO formats. 
  • Deliver: Design, execute, analyze, and interpret in vitro and in vivo experiments. Generate robust, high-quality data.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with internal/external partners on drug discovery projects to ensure studies are executed to meet scientific goals and timelines.

 

Why We Value You 

  • You have a B.S. or M.S. degree in Biology or related science with 1 to 3 years of additional experience in biotech/pharma.
  • You have strong hands-on experience with molecular biology and protein techniques including, but not limited to, nucleic acid isolation, qPCR, RT-qPCR, western blots.
  • You have experience with cell culture and cell-based assays.
  • You have a keen attention for detail.
  • You have effective interpersonal skills, including both written and oral communication skills.
