The Manager, Financial Planning Systems (SAP BPC) oversees the financial planning and analysis system processes and requirements for US Commercial business. Provides system guidance in compliance with financial policies, facilitates the management analysis of actual vs. benchmark results, provides business decision support and leads key projects and initiatives to improve financial processes. The Finance Manager interacts with all levels of finance and business management. Enables required planning deliverables to meet AbbVie Corporate FP&A requirements.

Key Areas of Focus:

  • Key support lead for the US commercial gross to  net and expense planning models in the BPC environment including problem resolution break fix support, enhancements and optimization.  Requires strong understanding of the commercial planning process, including gross to net, product P&L, and requirements for management reporting.
  • Manage and ensure that actuals loaded into BPC tie to reported results monthly.  Ensure that monthly financial data is loaded to BPC is complete and that all validation checks are performed.
  • Provide the US commercial finance team with support for ad-hoc reports.  Ensure forecast tie to final monthly, quarterly reported results.  Coordinate with Commercial DHQ finance collection of forecasts from 100+ users regarding system readiness. Finally, coordinate the submission of forecasts with other system administrators to corporate.  
  • Act as BPC subject matter expert for the US commercial finance organization.  Continuously and proactively improve the environment to enrich experience by promoting and developing the automation of processes with current and future application flows, enhancing existing reports, along with making metadata suggestions to optimize management reporting.  Develop, maintain and improve documentation on key business processes and procedures in compliance with internal control policies as well as provide training documentation and support for end users.
  • Maintain production and development databases, including data management, hierarchy updates, calculation script logic updates, data backups, and user security. Design, develop and troubleshoot load rules, Business Rules and Calculation Scripts. Assist with technical patches, upgrades and system/application migrations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, or Accounting preferred.
  • 5-7 years of progressive, relevant work experience
  • Extensive experience in architecting, building of SAP BPC based applications with administration and implementation roles. This includes input forms/report design, master data maintenance and ability to reverse engineer already existing objects if necessary.   Microsoft Excel advanced expertise a must.
  • Above average understanding of SAP BW platform, including analysis of BW info-providers and info-objects together with the data flow between SAP S/4 and BW – all HANA based.
  • Experience with Analysis for Office query design, modification and user support
  • Strong Analytical and technical skills to continuously improve processes required.
  • Understanding /Acumen of finance with strong knowledge in budgeting and forecasting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work in highly fast paced changing environment
  • Ability to collaborate with all levels to appropriately plan for growth and change
  • Good problem solving skills, including innovative and creative solutions
  • Ability to work independently and be goal oriented, as well as work as part of a team
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadline
