The Regeneron Genetic Medicine group is seeking a curious and organized Senior Associate Scientist with a strong background in histology, immunostaining assay development, and optimization. In this highly collaborative role, you will provide intellectual guidance and technical support for a variety of projects designed to characterize cutting-edge gene therapy platforms.
As a Senior Associate Scientist, a typical day might include:
Providing intellectual contributions to multiple gene therapy projects such as designing custom RNAScope probes, developing IHC and IHC/ISH multiplex assays, providing feedback on others’ staining projects, and guiding interpretation of results.
Running routine staining protocols on automated equipment (ROCHE Discovery Ultra) and delivering summary PowerPoints of results.
Developing SOPs and training new users in use of equipment, assays, and software.
Maintaining in-house equipment and inventory.
Coordinating the outsource of work to CROs when necessary.

You enjoy working in a fast-paced, team environment and collaborating with others to develop new assays and approaches for quantifying histological data.
You are detail oriented, take excellent notes, and are comfortable tracking several projects at one time.
You have excellent organizational and communication skills.
To be considered for this role, you must have BS/MS, with a minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on histology experience preferred. We need someone with proven experience generating and interpreting IHC and ISH data in multiple tissue types. Must have strong histological and biological knowledge of multiple tissues, and be able to make connections between histological data and data generated by other assays such as qPCR and ELISAs. Familiarity with autostainers, slide scanners, and HALO or other image analysis software is an advantage. Experience training colleagues, students, or mentoring interns a plus.
