Element Biosciences is a multi-disciplinary startup focused on innovating genetic analysis tools for the research and clinical markets. Element’s technology will broaden the end user experience through improved data quality and simplified workflows to benefit discoveries and diagnosis in healthcare.

As a Regional Marketing Director, you will support the sales team to use your knowledge of genomic customer applications and needs to drive outbound activities that execute the business strategy and objectives. Your activities will focus on driving sales organization effectiveness and will play an essential role in ensuring two-way communication between marketing and field teams so that both can continuously improve.  This role will report directly to the Vice President of Sales.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand and support our sales teams in North America; lend education support to train on the problems we solve for our customers and users; co-develop internal tools and external collateral and teach them how and when to use it. Support important demos and shows and support the yearly sales meetings.
  • Implement and execute product campaign plans with the regional sales teams. Inclusive of industry shows, demos training, collateral development, etc.
  • Support sales operations activities to aid field with effective lead follow up management. Inclusive of CRM dashboard review/curation and lead nurturing in coordination with digital marketing team.
  • Partner with Product Management on alignment in messaging and activities that support the product strategy and marketing roadmap by acting as the voice of the customer to optimize two-way communication between marketing and the sales organization.
  • Market & Competitive Intelligence – be an expert in the user & application areas. Understand the customer and the customer experience to evaluate trends in targeted segments or new, but related markets to determine penetration opportunities and strategies.
  • Build relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOL’s) and manage relationships from a consulting perspective.
  • Enable lead-sharing and co-selling initiatives in coordination with Product Management. Monitor success and intervene to improve when needed.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Master’s degree or higher in one of core life science disciplines – biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, etc.
  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in genomics technologies, ideally related to next generation sequencing applications in a marketing or sales role or combination.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to work with cross-functional teams without line management authority.
  • Well organized ability to help drive projects, multi-task, and prioritize projects and tasks efficiently.
  • 5 years of experience in marketing and in-depth knowledge of the life science NGS market.
  • 2 years of people leadership experience.
  • Solid understanding of selling process and how it is used effectively with varying product types in different segments of NGS market.
  • Excellent computing skills, with specific knowledge of Microsoft Office tool set; Salesforce.com knowledge a plus.
  • Experience managing the lifecycle of a range of different product types from idea conceptualization through launch, growth and maturity, to their formal deletion.
  • Successful track-record of working effectively across multiple functions.
  • Highly collaborative and team-focused.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds.


TRAVEL: 

  • Ability to travel up to 25% in North America.

 

In addition to base compensation, you will be eligible for stock options, sales commission, no cost health insurance plans, 401k with company match, and flexible paid time off.
