We are seeking an Associate Director/Director Sourcing who will be responsible to develop & lead the local, regional and global sourcing strategies within the indirect laboratory supplies and consumables category. Supporting partner requirements across the Discovery Research through pre-Clinical Development (R&pD) and Quality Control (QC) organizations as well as external research and laboratory services supporting the R&pD organization. We need someone who is a business strategy influencer & collaborator to drive Regeneron teams on supply market dynamics and leading practices. The ideal candidate works effectively with ambiguity to anticipate future business requirements in multiple business unit partner categories. This person carries out multiple market Supplier Management Programs including risk, performance, relationship, and supplier development pillars.

SCOPE: Local / Regional / Global laboratory & consumable supplies markets and research and laboratory services supporting partners across the Discovery Research through pre-Clinical Development (R&pD) organization.

A typical day might include:
  • Identifies and resolves unique situations of substantial significance in the sourcing spend
  • Either directly or through a matrix structure, manages teams of professional level employees responsible for performing sourcing tasks to carry out local sourcing and supply management tasks
  • Serve as the SS&P leader for the local governance forums which may include Joint Operating Committee and Annual/Semi-Annual Business Review Meetings
  • Responsible for local contractual agreements and works with the internal legal department to drive any changes that are critical to Regeneron’s interest
  • Assists with the planning and management of budgets, policies and practices for the sourcing function with significant impact on area operations
  • Owns the local supply market evaluation process by using all available market intelligence, risk, compliance, and financial assessment tools
  • Advises and consults on the global Category Management strategy

This role may be for you if you have:
  • A bachelor’s plus 10 years of relevant, progressive experience within procurement, to preferably include 7 years directly in sourcing Pharma/Biotech OR Master’s plus 8 years of relevant, progressive experience within procurement, to preferably include 5 years directly in sourcing within Pharma/Biotech.
  • Led multiple spend categories and strategy
  • 2 years or more of supervisory experience and experience leading a matrix team
  • Working knowledge with sourcing, contracting and analytic tools, ERP’s, and eRFx systems preferred. (Oracle, Zycus, iCertis, Ariba, Qlik, Other), including VMI programs and electronic catalogs and marketplace platforms.
  • Cost modeling knowledge

Salary Range (annually)

$148,100.00 - $241,700.00
