The Role:
The Associate Director, Global Market & Customer Insights, Oncology, will sit within the Commercial organization and offers an exciting opportunity to shape and innovate the insight function across the Moderna Enterprise building collaborative relationships with stakeholders in key functions across the organization.

The Associate Director is expected to lead coordination for the definition of open questions, design of data generation vehicles, definition of scope and methodology, and report and insight socialization for oncology pre- launch assets.

The role is required to have strong strategic consultative presence and leverage technical skills in market research and analytics to lead insight generation, dashboarding and reporting, and socialization of insights to support the commercial and medical affairs teams. The AD will help define the annual oncology insights agenda, the projects and budget to support it, and will maintain the insights that underpin the commercial strategy.

This role will also play an active role in supporting the development of new capabilities within the Market & Customer Insights team and will be responsible for identifying and implementing ongoing process excellence, research innovation, vendor selection and management, dashboarding and digital data presentation and capability building initiatives.

The Associate Director may also be required to assist with generating insights for other therapy areas for which assets are currently marketed or in-development within Modernas pipeline. Thus, we are looking for someone who is flexible and adaptable to change. The ability to work effectively with a team, learn new skills quickly and prioritize competing demands is essential to success in this position.

Heres What Youll Do:

  • Vendor Management: Manage multiple vendors and contractors aligned with business need, providing regular coaching, feedback, direction, and guidance.

  • Insight Agenda: Support development of oncology research agendas and management of budget to reflect the insight gaps and needs of these franchises. Provide regular updates to multiple leadership teams and manage a forward-looking insights generation and dissemination plan.

  • Project leadership: Lead collaboration with stakeholders and Decision Science experts in defining the problems, shaping the analyses, and generating and synthesizing insights for key stakeholders, as well as insights reporting and socialization.

  • Collaboration: Align and drive a competitive mindset within the organization through regular collaboration with Competitive Intelligence function to ensure comprehensive and relevant marketplace and congress monitoring and reporting aligned to key business needs.

  • Primary Market Research Center of Excellence: Lead the generation of insight to provide Global/Local commercial and medical teams execution support through collaboration with the commercial leads, brand teams, and (as appropriate) other stakeholders across the organization.

  • Brand Planning: Define the key priorities and deliverables that support the annual planning processes, including Global Market Outlooks and Situation Assessments (as appropriate) for oncology.

  • Work with the Decision Sciences, Medical Excellence & Digital Leadership Team to identify and implement improvements to team operations including Market Research, Data Analytics & Knowledge Sharing/Dashboarding processes, knowledge management processes and capabilities, project management processes, and vendor management strategies.

  • Innovate the insight function by developing piloting and training on new and novel insight methodologies.

Heres What Youll Need (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelors degree in business, life sciences, pharmacy, or similar discipline

  • 8+ years of experience within a pharmaceutical company, market research vendor, or consulting firm supporting the pharma/biotech industry

  • Prior biopharmaceutical manufacturer experience

  • Prior experience leading insights programs to support pre-launch brands in oncology
