Corporate Affairs Director, OncologyLiveWhat you will do
Lets do this! Lets change the world. In this vital role you will lead Amgens innovative and diverse Oncology portfolio. The Director will be responsible for mobilizing a high-performing team of communicators while working cross-functionally to deliver integrated communications strategies that deliver for our marketed portfolio and set the stage for future launches. The Corporate Affairs Director will be instrumental in continuing to drive reputation for the Oncology business through stakeholder engagement and a robust digital strategy. The person successful in this role will have a passion for the Oncology patient journey and aptitude for translating scientific data for different audiences, along with ability to partner closely with Oncology leadership to deliver against priorities.
This position can sit remotely (US - Remote), but successful candidate must be willing to travel to Thousand Oaks, CA. This role will be US based and no relocation assistance will be provided.
In this role you will need to:Expect the unexpected, advising Oncology colleagues on a wide range of daily communications challenges
Deliver high-impact, integrated communications plans that communicate, engage and amplify the Oncology story across bespoke channels and platforms to reach key stakeholders.
Inspire and lead a team of savvy communicators working on key Oncology products and molecules
Seek opportunities to learn, grow, and pilot new approaches and measure their impact
Demonstrate established experience working on both data and regulatory milestones including drug launches, as well as consumer-facing campaigns
Showcase comfort and flexibility pivoting based on new information, as well as issues management
Deliver as a trusted counselor to executive-level staff and poised, polished presenter
Be committed to quality and excellence
Takes initiative as a self-starter and team player
Exhibit excellent writing and interpersonal skills
Liaise gracefully with colleagues within Corporate Affairs including Advocacy and other functions such as Investor Relations, Medical Affairs, Legal, Regulatory, Government Affairs and Commercial
Energetic and supportive manager who advocates for staff growth
Oversee multiple PR agencies with clear direction, while measuring results and impact
What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 4 years of communications or public relations experience
OrMasters degree and 7 years of communications or public relations experience
OrBachelors degree and 9 years of communications or public relations experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Fifteen years within communications or public relations
Deep understanding of the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry or health care
Experience in communications or public relations ideally having supported Oncology therapeutics
Demonstrated skills in developing, managing and delivering communications strategies and plans in a complex organization
Ability to operate effectively on large cross-functional teams and experience establishing two-way channels to open communication lines, create dialogue and ensure alignment
Meaningful experience in social and digital media, earned media relations, issues management and internal communications
Passion for the role, paired with strong written, spoken and interpersonal communication skills with attention to detail
Ability to productively navigate a challenging and dynamic environment and adapt to rapid changes
Strong critical thinking, problem-solving and planning skills
Collaboratively work with a diverse group of people and backgrounds
Self-starter with demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit, enthusiasm and creativity
Experience in creating and translating scientific and technical content for a broad range of audiences

The annual salary range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $170,089 $208,148.
