General Scope and Summary

The Data and Analytics teamsits in theDigital and Enterprise Capabilitiesgroupandis responsible for driving thestrategy, implementation, and delivery of Data, Analytics and Automation capabilities across the Sage Enterprise . This central team will deliver Next-Gen Value by establishing core Data Analytics and Enterprise Architecture capabilities needed to effectively manage and exploit Data as an Enterprise Asset.

The Director, Machine Learning & Analytics Platform Architect will be responsible for owning product development, delivery, and strategy of the Sage ML & Analytics platform that will support rapid Analytics growth at scale across all lines of business at Sage. This role will have significant exposure to senior leaders across analytics and business in the Sage organization.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • ML & Analytics Architecture, Strategy, and Leadership: Bring next-generation ML principles and processes to Sage to elevate and improve our overall Analytics methodologies, while also helping to determine which current Analytics systems at Sage should continue and expand. This includes but is not limited to determining software directions, data cloud solutions, and new methodologies for advance analytics.

  • ML Platform Roadmaps: Create enterprise vision and ML platform roadmaps and advocate/evangelize them with other Sage teams across the enterprise.

  • Project Initiation and Architecture: In conjunction with analytics and business leaders, translate requirements to high-level architecture, creating design documentation, and set expectations around scope and effort for Analytics projects. Play a critical role up-front in project/program ideation and proof of concept curation.

  • Project Delivery / Delivery Oversight: As appropriate, serve as part of the Delivery team for Analytics projects. This especially includes architecture and design, but also includes the willingness to dive in and engineer solutions personally if needed. The candidate will play a larger role as it relates to technical leadership and direction-setting/guidance for engineers (internal and external) delivering on projects.

  • Solicit requirements, understand needs, align technology solutions, and assist in the analytic/science enablement of each teams respective broader strategy.

  • Guide and oversee engineering delivery across data and analytics solutions. Oversee both system implementers procured by IT/business, as well as a set of core MSP resources both on-site and remote.

  • Act as a subject matter expert on relevant topics, technologies, and trends.

  • Lead technical assessments of vendor products or new technologies.

  • Support the Enterprise Platform Operations organization by ensuring systems meet stability, performance, and capacity requirements.

  • Develop a growing DEC team and fill open roles as positions are green lighted.

Experience, Education and Specialized Knowledge and Skills

Must thrive working in a fast-paced, innovative environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient. Must have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to develop important relationships with key stakeholders, good conflict management and negotiation skills, and the ability to analyze complex issues to develop relevant and realistic plans, programs, and recommendations. Must have a demonstrated ability to translate strategy into action, excellent analytical skills, and an ability to communicate complex issues in a simple way and to orchestrate plans to resolve issues and mitigate risks.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required.

  • 8+ years of experience building data products.

  • 5+ years of experience in building large-scale Analytics platforms to support business operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with next generation architectural concepts, including Integrations, advanced analytics, cloud analytics, big data, artificial intelligence, and/or machine learning.

  • Experience, exposure, and knowledge of primary cloud provider offerings and architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Experience with Life Sciences related business process domains, such as R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, corporate activities, or drug commercialization.

  • Strong interest data and analytics as key enablers of corporate performance.

  • Highly motivated, decisive, and results-oriented individual with the flexibility and creativity to excel in a rapidly growing and changing environment.

  • Experience working with all levels of management, consulting with key business stakeholders, and ability to influence for greater outcomes.

  • Strong team player that has a customer service approach and is solution-oriented.

  • Attention to detail and the ability to work individually, within a multi-disciplinary team, as well as with external partners and vendors.

  • Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills.

Benefits and Compensation The base salary hiring range for this position is $175,449 - $241,242.*
  • The actual salary offered within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, education, skills, and performance.
  • This position is eligible to participate in the Companys annual bonus plan; the bonus varies based on performance and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program.
