About the role:

The Service Governance team under Technology Operations within Takeda GDT is looking for Service Asset and Configuration Manager who will lead the process ownership of configuration management process. Work with multiple stakeholders in the Data, Digital and Technology group to provide guidance for building the state-of-the-art CMDB. You will report to the Service Governance Lead

How will you contribute?

  • Accountable for the implementation, continuous improvement, and refinement of the Configuration Management process and Configuration Management System
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of the process as defined by Configuration Management procedure with minimal direction and focusing work on prioritized tasks.
  • Responsible to provide vision and roadmap to drive the efficiency and effectiveness of the process throughout the organization and across internal and external service providers
  • Ensure all CMDB activities are in compliance with the Configuration Management and change management procedures
  • Responsible for development and implementation of global performance and process health centric KPIs to monitor the process using qualitative and quantitative key performance indicators
  • Provide and manage communications for the process in collaboration with the process owner
  • Responsible for managing and updating the configuration management plan, QRGs, FAQ sheet
  • Monitor risks, issues and overall health of the process, escalating issues at risk to the stakeholders and IT leadership to raise awareness and provide recommendations to resolve issues
  • Chair the configuration control board (CCB), set up agenda and follow up the action items until closure
  • Ensure the data integrity of the CMDB including the CI data model and relationships. Take any preventive and corrective action as necessary by directing the team to correct data issues
  • Facilitate activities needed for Verification and Audit in collaboration with Audit and Compliance teams
  • Mentors the organization on Configuration Management services, concepts, procedures and provide coaching and/or recommend additional training as required
  • Engage with strategic projects/ Business Functions to ensure configuration management can deliver the required CMS functionality within project timeframes
  • Responsible for reviewing and approving all changes to the Configuration Management System, process, polices and coordinate resolution of escalated service performance issues;
  • Manage day-to-day activities of the process, including establishing priorities and work assignments
  • As a key advisor on Configuration Management proactively initiate ideas to significantly improve the process and CMDB; drive and manage progress of assignments/projects for large scale projects, processes or programs related to Configuration Management

Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise

  • Have good understanding of CSDM 4.0, CI Class Manager, Cloud CI classes , ITIL V4 and GxP
  • Hands on experience with ServiceNow CMDB
  • Experience with Service Mapping
  • Understand the impact and dependency of CMDB data to Service Operations

Leadership

  • A strategic mindset, able to see the big picture and able to create and articulate vision and northstarfor CMDB
  • Able to influence peers and other leaders on overall strategy (vision, capabilities, platform, providers, roadmap)
  • Able to create a technology roadmap for the SACM process and to lead a team towards this technology roadmap
  • Strong communication skills with ability to articulate and optimize design based on the value to the user and the business.

Decision-making and Autonomy

  • Ability to make autonomous decisions in the best interest of serving the needs of businessand Takeda
  • Ability to connect, orchestrate and influence different stakeholders from various departments to drive solutions
  • Able to influence stakeholders in a complex organization, with ability to ensure maintenance and enhancements of CMDB

Interaction

  • Able to clearly communicate and foster alignment across all levels of the organization
  • Is required to build strong working partnerships within DDT team.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships with team members from multiple functions and teams (e.g. DDT, Enterprise Architects, UAMS, Cloud etc.)

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

Required

  • Degree in Computer Science/Business Informatics or other relevant graduate degree required;
  • 10+ years of experience in IT Service Management
  • 8+ Years of experience in Service Asset and Configuration Management and CMDB
  • Experience in agile and SAFE methodologies
  • Strong communication skills with ability to articulate and optimize design based on the value to the user and the business, lead ideation sessions and workshops;
  • Experience working in a life sciences environment preferred.
  • ITIL V4 Foundation Certification
