Job Description



The Product Manager will be responsible for supporting the HIV Prevention Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) Marketing Team. This individual will support the execution of programs and tactics that help educate Consumers about our product to prevent HIV, Descovy for PrEP, and about sexual health, HIV prevention and PrEP medications overall. Partnering with external agency members and internal cross-functional stakeholders will be important to be successful in this position.

This position is located in Gilead's home office, Foster City. It will report directly to the Senior Director, HIV Prevention DTC Marketing.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in development and implementation of marketing strategies, messaging and tactics directed towards communities most impacted by HIV, incorporating health literacy and adult learning principles
  • Demonstrate strong aptitude in traditional and innovative marketing channels, including TV, digital, social media, print and CRM with a strong desire to learn and develop media proficiency
  • Assist in development of DTC tactics across both branded and unbranded campaigns
  • Lead execution of DTC tactics across multiple media channels including digital, social media and point-of-care
  • Assist in development of materials for live Consumer events and conferences
  • Leverages multiple data sources including market research, advisory board read outs, and media performance to help identify insights and new opportunities that are pulled through in execution
  • Effectively coordinate across multiple agency partners to produce deliverables on strategy, within timelines and on budget
  • Manage print and literature ordering system
  • Help develop and deliver presentations to key stakeholders (HIV marketing team, leadership team, cross-functional teams)
  • Gains approval for marketing materials that they manage through internal review process including management reviews and Medical-Legal-Regulatory reviews
  • Works well cross-functionally with overall HIV Marketing Team, Regulatory, Medical, Legal, Market Research, Public Affairs, Marketing Operations, and other key internal stakeholders.
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies
  • Monitors landscape seeking out areas of opportunity to support ongoing marketing efforts
  • Ensures tactics are updated and remain in market across label updates & guideline changes while applying and adhering to promotional regulatory and legal requirements and internal SOPs
  • 15-20% travel required


Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and Seven Years' Experience

OR

Masters' Degree and Five Years' Experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Consumer/Patient marketing, sales or advertising preferred
  • HIV category experience strongly preferred, but sexual health and/or preventative health experience also welcomed
  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing or related fields preferred: MBA welcomed
  • Demonstrated excellence in project management including planning, prioritization, execution, analytical assessment, and performance management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent communications skills with an ability to effectively communicate both orally and written
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the pharmaceutical regulatory, medical, and legal requirements and their impact on developing marketing materials.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and analytical problem-solver desired
  • Thrives in a fast-paced dynamic environment where multi-tasking is required
  • Strong ability to identify problems and proactively make logical recommendations
  • Listens carefully to other points of view and able to adapt style and approach based on audience
  • Proven ability to work well as part of a team
  • Must be comfortable with discussing a therapeutic category which is based around sex, HIV, HIV prevention and multi-cultural communities
  • Must possess ability to maintain, develop and utilize a level of product and therapeutic knowledge to promote appropriate use of Gilead product(s)


The salary range for this position is: $139,145.00 - $180,070.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
