Lets do this. Lets change the world. In this vital role you will be a key member of the Americas Supply Chain leadership team.

This role has dual responsibilities: responsible for orchestrating supply chain transformation and digitalization efforts for Supply Chain Americas in the areas of planning and distribution, among others, and responsible for leading business performance and operating rhythm activities for Supply Chain Americas leadership team

Key Activities Include:

  • Team Leadership: Provide strategic planning operational leadership to SC Americas leadership team and represent region in cross-functional efforts, risk assessments and digital/operational excellence improvements. Drive effective team operations, including goal setting, sub-team charters, functional management reviews, all staffs, talent engagement meetings, etc. and ensure that all goals and objectives are well understood.
  • Cross-program, Cross-functional Communication: Provide timely, accurate communication among Supply Chain Americas teams, including developing change management plans for function-wide initiatives related to the portfolio, digital culture, talent council, and others.
  • Strategic Thinking: Act as a strategic partner to Supply Chain Americas leadership team. Actively participate in program team meetings and represent the function within the Amgen Business Performance and Strategic Planning Operations (SPO) communities. Charter ground-breaking and innovative efforts for the region, including projects to digitalize and improve core supply chain processes like planning, procurement, warehousing and distribution to-the-market and in-market.
  • Resource Planning: Provide information to assist with resource planning (e.g. human resources, plant capacity, inventory availability, etc.) and elevate resource issues as needed. Identify and reconcile resource issues for Supply Chain Americas.
  • Project Management Processes: Handle all aspects of Supply Chain Americas cross-functional projects/processes: planning, estimating, sequencing and scheduling, supervising and controlling, risk management, execution, and closing. Maintain a master project plan and schedule for assigned projects. Translate plans into concrete and measurable tasks. Follow up on action items from sub-team meetings. Establish and achieve project standards for work quality and quantity.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree & 2 years of directly related supply chain experience OR
  • Masters degree & 6 years of directly related supply chain experience Or
  • Bachelors degree & 8 years of directly related supply chain experience Or
  • Associates degree & 10 years of directly related supply chain experience or
  • High School Diploma/GED and 12 years of directly related supply chain experience AND 2 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Eight (8) years work experience in life sciences or medically-related field
  • Five (5) years experience in a pharmaceutical Project Management role, Supply Chain Planning role or Business Financial Planning role
  • Budget and contract administration experience
  • Good understanding of the digital space
  • Excellent interpersonal & organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively present ideas and detail complex concepts and processes in both written & verbal communication
  • Proven ability of anticipating & resolving problems while exhibiting sound judgment & a balanced, realistic understanding of issues
  • Professional collaboration & leadership skills
