Organization Overview:

The Lilly Immunology Research team focuses on discovering innovative medicines to treat autoimmune/inflammatory diseases and related complications. Our team is looking for a motivated manager with deep immunology expertise and drug discovery experience to join us and to make a difference for patients and the communities we serve! The successful candidate will oversee a group of scientists responsible for advancing Lilly’s competitive immunology portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a group of research path scientific staff with immunology project leadership responsibilities
  • Provide scientific and administrative leadership; allocate and prioritize resources, collaborate on scientific and business issues
  • Closely partner with colleagues across Lilly, including groups in Medicines Innovation Hub, ATP, and other therapeutic areas
  • Represent Immunology on critical cross-functional initiatives
  • Serve as a collaboration leader for external collaborations to ensure that all parties work together as a cohesive team
  • Serve as a member of Immunology Lead Team strategy groups
Basic Requirements:
  • Ph.D. in immunology, molecular biology, or related field
  • 10+ years of proven experience in pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology companies

Additional Preferences:

  • Expertise in cellular/molecular immunology of human and animal immune system
  • Knowledge of pharmacology with experience of various autoimmune and inflammatory disease models
  • Proven leader with extensive experience collaborating with internal and external partners across geographies to build and advance strategies and deliver impactful business outcomes
  • Track record of scientific success demonstrated by authorship on publications and/ or patents
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and collaboration/team spirit
  • Attention to detail and critical thinking. Able to prioritize work and meet target timelines
  • Demonstrated success leading teams of >10 people and cross-functional, business-critical projects. Ability to ensure accountability of oneself and others
  • Proven ability to positively impact team culture and to demonstrate flexibility in a fast-paced environment
  • Develop talent at all levels and ensure rigorous performance management practices
  • Impeccable organizational skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Excellent computer skills (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
