About the role:

As a member of Takeda Oncology, your work will contribute to our bold, inspiring vision: We aspire to cure cancer. As part of the Medical Affairs team, you will report to US Head Medical Affairs, Oncology and work with various internal and external partners.

How you will contribute:
  • Provide scientific input across USMAO activities for Lung cancer and advanced stage and/or pipeline molecules including evidence data generation; data analysis and interpretation; publications; medical communication; medical training; medical information; and support market access & reimbursement needs for data generation, analysis and publications. Develop into a subject matter expert in relevant disease state(s).

  • Work in a multifunctional matrix organization with other USMAO functions, Regional and Global Medical Affairs functions, OTAU and other R&D functions, Oncology Business Unit (OBU) leaders, Takeda's Patient Advocacy team and external collaborations and alliances.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Medical Strategy for US Medical Affairs Oncology: Help coordinate across all Medical Affairs functions, R&D, and Commercial functions to develop and maintain the strategic plan; compliant execution of USMAO tactics; and excellence in standards and practices. Coordinate activities to prepare, utilize and monitor annual operating budget.

  • Develop external collaborations with healthcare practitioners, research groups, payers and patient advocacy groups and assure strong collaboration across Takeda's organization

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree: Medical Degree and 2+ years clinical or other MD related healthcare experience or PhD/PharmD and 5+ years scientific, pharmacology or related experience following award of degree.

  • Superior communication skills, both oral and written, and able to engender trust and respect of peers, subordinates, and superiors.

  • Strong scientific credentials are required in order to in order to communicate with key Thought Leaders, Medical Affairs, Research and Development, as well as other key internal and external stakeholders.

  • Firm understanding of the key phases, processes, and techniques that are involved in both the pre-clinical and clinical aspects of drug development.

  • Demonstrated understanding of relevant connections and integration points between Medical Affairs and stakeholders across the Development and Commercial functions.

  • Proven track record of matrix, teamwork, leading cross-functional teams, timely decision making and results orientation in meeting objectives.

  • Demonstrated ability to articulate and negotiate projects and priorities across functions and/or organizations.

  • Demonstrated understanding of legal and regulatory environment of pharmaceutical industry

Preferred
  • Oncology, Solid Tumors, Lung experience

  • Clinical, research, or teaching experience

  • Bio-pharmaceutical industry experience (i.e., R&D, medical affairs and/or commercial functions)
