Position: Scientist (ref. #2815)

Location: 700 Bay Road, Redwood City, CA 94063

Use experience with: development and implementation of computational techniques (image segmentation, classification, registration) for analyzing biomedical images, including digital pathology images; proficiency in programming languages MATLAB and Python with emphasis on image processing and machine-learning toolboxes; development and application of machine learning and deep learning methodologies to biomedical images; development of advanced image analysis algorithms for quantification of immunohistochemical staining expression through chromogenic and/or multiplex immunofluorescence assays; deep knowledge of digital pathology analysis software packages such as HALO and Visiopharm to collaborate with pathologists and biomarker scientists to design experiments which leverage data from biomedical images in particular, pathology images to support early- and late-stage drug development in Immuno-Oncology and other disease areas. Implement and support pathology whole slide image analysis tools and technology. Perform bioinformatics analyses and data visualization to support conclusions drawn from image analysis. Research & integrate machine learning and deep learning workflows to use cases within digital pathology to advance internal artificial intelligence capabilities. Prepare and present findings from image analysis projects to other groups within the company. Participate in the evaluation of pathology image management and analysis systems to advance the field of digital pathology within the company. Contribute to building and maintaining external partnerships and strategic collaborations with academic institutions.

Requirements: Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Biomedical Engineering or related field plus 2 years of experience reflecting demonstrable ability in the skill set described above.

The starting compensation for this job is a range from $134,680 to $142,813, plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility). The starting pay takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed. Final, individual compensation is decided based on demonstrated experience.
