Lead, manage and oversee the site maintenance program for the Site Operations Value Stream which includes mechanical maintenance teams, critical systems (Fire, Electrical and Refrigerant) operations and maintenance, facilities maintenance and maintenance planning and scheduling. Ensure current Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures are integrated in all maintenance activities. The Maintenance Manager leads and manages day-to-day maintenance within boundaries of compliance, quality, time, and budget. Responsibilities include supporting a culture of continuous improvement by implementing measurement tools or methods to eliminate probability of repeat mistakes and championing change. The incumbent compiles and evaluates key data generated to propose solutions for reduction of exceptions and errors, optimizes preventative maintenance activities, level loads the required work and labor, and is instrumental to the overall success of the manufacturing operations.

Reporting Relationships:

  • Role that this position reports to:  Site Operations VS - Maintenance Services Manager

  • Role/s that report to this position: Site Operations Maintenance Supervisors, System Owners, and Planner/Scheduler

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the operations and maintenance activities of facility. Identify waste, workflow interrupters, and other opportunities for improvement, recommend solutions, and assisting with implementation.

  • Ensures GMP activities for assigned Operations function in accordance with company policies, approved cGMP procedures and are documented according to cGMP requirements. Ensure work is completed in accordance with procedures.

  • Improve the right first-time execution. Assist with meeting training needs and developing overall programs to upgrade operating and maintenance skills and effectiveness

  • Support investigations and ensures that corrective actions and preventive actions (CAPA) are managed and closed according to procedures.

  • Ensure work activities are completed correctly. Ensures that manufacturing facilities, equipment, processes, and procedures are compliant with cGMP requirements and/or other applicable regulations. Support to meet all the metrics established in department.

  • Provide a positive and equitable working environment emphasizing the CSL Values: Customer Focus, Innovation, Integrity, Collaboration, and Superior Performance

  • Complies with requirements from CSL Behring’s Safety Program and Regulatory agencies, including Quality, Health and Safety mandates and OSHA requirements.

  • Responsible for handing out disciplinary action when required.

  • Directs and assists the department in developing policies, programs, SOPs, and Quality Standards to meet current industry, corporate quality, and external regulatory requirements.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement through employee selection, training and mentoring while focusing on operational efficiency and the elimination of “non-value added” activities.

  • Establish and execute strategic direction for the maintenance team in alignment with site goals

  • Completes any other duties/responsibilities assigned by senior management.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field preferred, but not required

  • 5+ years' experience in the maintenance and/or operation of a process pharmaceutical manufacturing facility

  • Previous supervisory experience with a represented union workforce is preferred.

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma methodologies preferred.

  • Computer Literacy (SAP, Trackwise, Microsoft Office, other)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to establish, enhance and manage customer relationships

  • Management of contractors and vendors
