About the role:

Takeda Pharmaceuticals is hiring interns for summer 2023! Are you looking for a patient-focused company that empowers you to shine?

The Takeda Summer Internship Program is a 12-week experience where you will sharpen your skills through a variety of activities at a state-of-the-art pharmaceutical manufacturing site. At the end of the internship, you will have gained valuable experience at a top pharma company, an in-depth understanding of concepts taught in school, and a network to help you develop as a professional in the industry. This role is designed to challenge interns and contribute to their future careers.

Department Opportunities:

The following departments are offering internships at our Brooklyn Park locations:

  • Engineering- Exposure to engineering roles in a GMP biologics manufacturing facility. Develop technical understanding of industrial scale unit operations such as bioreactors, centrifuge, chromatography, tangential flow filtration. Support equipment troubleshooting with experienced process engineers or equipment design with experienced project engineers.Requires Enrollment in: Engineering (Chemical Engineering or Engineering Double Major)

  • Technical Operations- work hands-on in a laboratory setting to design experiments with an objective to achieving process optimization, yield development, and cycle time reductions. Requires enrollment in: Hard Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry), Chemical or Biochemical Engineering

  • Communications- work with the Brooklyn Park site to create a site Sharepoint page. Work with all divisions within the site to create department specific pages and link them to the broader landing site.

Timeline of Program:

  • Two start dates: May 15th or June 26th

  • Expected completion of the internship is August or early September, depending on start date.

What you bring to Takeda:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be pursuing an Associate’s, Bachelor's, or Master degree

  • 3.0 GPA or higher

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 25 lbs.

  • Combination of sedentary work and standing/walking observation

Work Environment:

  • Depending on the department, you may work in controlled environments requiring special gowning. Gowning requirements include a wearing protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. No make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish or artificial fingernails may be worn in the manufacturing environment.

  • May work in a cold, wet environment

  • Can work several shifts, including weekends.

  • Work several shifts and overtime may be necessary.

  • May be asked to work in a confined area.

  • Some Clean Room and cool/hot storage conditions.
