About the role:

Ethics & Compliance (E&C) will respond rapidly to changing environment and business needs, it is close to the market, and encourages ethical behavior in line with Takeda's values. By working in an agile manner E&C ensures the balance between stable structures, governance, processes and systems, and dynamic approaches to delivering solutions to manage our risks. Join Takeda as a Global Medical Ethics & Compliance Advisory Lead where you will collaborate across all Global Medical teams and partner with E&C colleagues in BU / BF to embed ethics and compliance as part of the way everyone works at Takeda. As part of the E&C Global Medical & GPLS Team, you will report to the Head E&C Global Medical & GPLS.

How you will contribute:

  • Ensure Global Medical has the required Takeda-aligned elements of an effective E&C program. Support the evaluation and enhancement of the Global Medical E&C program on an annual basis.

  • Gain agreement with senior Global Medical and Region/Country E&C colleagues to resolve E&C relevant matters.

  • Identify potential E&C risks areas within Global Medical and provide general guidance on mitigation strategies/options. Present relevant topics to the Global Medical Leadership Team.

  • Lead discussions and help shape Global Medical's organizational mindset around Takeda's Values: Takeda-ism and PTRB (Patient-Trust-Reputation-Business)-Model to firmly embed ethical decision-making principles.

  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and other guidance documents to support the Global Medical E&C program in alignment with company risks and code/regulatory obligations.

  • Help implement an annual enterprise and local risk assessment process. Collaborate with Global Medical to define and track mitigation actions.

  • Coordinate and develop materials for Global Medical E&C Risk Ethics & Compliance Committee meetings (e.g. - external benchmarking, internal compliance metrics)

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years of legal or compliance experience, of which at least 6 years in the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience with Global Codes of Practice, US PhRMA Code, health care laws/regulations

  • Experience with laws, regulations and industry guidance that affect the pharmaceutical industry including OIG and PhRMA guidelines, healthcare standard operating procedures, anti-bribery laws, and state price reporting statutes

  • Experience managing potential, present and future compliance risks related to the business, including risk identification, controls & risk mitigation of potential non-compliance

  • Experience using ethical decision-making
