The Role

Moderna is seeking a Director of Communications to work within the Brand & Corporate Affairs team on integrated, highly visible and complex communication projects, with a focus on storytelling and multimedia digital content across a variety of online platforms. The Director will serve as a strategic partner from project kick-off to delivery, project managing, organizing, and driving meetings with internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with key stakeholders, actively seek and incorporate feedback from cross-functional teams, influence functional leaders on communication strategy, and consistently adapt to evolving company goals and objectives in a fast-paced environment.

Heres What Youll Do

  • Oversee projects and content creation from inception to execution

  • Deliver highly engaging and disruptive content across channels and mediums

  • Independently, create strategies, concepts and designs for new projects in constantly changing environment

  • Monitor and track industry trends and stay up to date on and proficient in relevant technology

  • Lead internal and external meetings on assigned projects, including but not limited to scheduling, setting milestones and benchmarks, and measuring outcomes

  • Identify creative solutions and strategies when priorities shift, and the team needs to refocus without losing momentum

  • Provide cost estimates and monitor budgets to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery

  • Collaborate with senior leaders and cross-functional teams on communications regarding company information, such as news, programs, internal campaigns, memos and company directives

  • Ensure all content is on brand and meets stakeholders requirements and deadlines

  • Proactively identify opportunities and develop new communication programs and strategies to uplevel internal communications and improve our processes for more proactive, clean and succinct communications

  • Ability to simultaneously manage, coordinate, and execute a number of communications projects while adhering to timelines and budget parameters

Heres What Youll Need (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelors degree in communications, public relations or relevant field

  • 12+ years experience in a similar role

  • Experience managing vendors and creative agencies

Heres What Youll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Strong knowledge of computer software that is related to web design, video editing, and graphic design, is a plus

  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills

  • Strong understanding of project management, including the ability to identify and resolve issues, manage risk, develop detailed project plans and specifications, and run internal team meetings as well as external meetings

  • Solution-oriented with a growth mindset and strong attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to solicit and synthesize feedback and build consensus, while collaborating effectively in a dynamic, cross-functional matrix environment
