Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies U.S.A., Inc. is offering summer internships for college students majoring in Life Sciences or Chemical Engineering disciplines, with a position open in our Upstream Process Development group.  The successful candidates will have completed their sophomore or junior year or higher.  We offer a supportive, collaborative teaching environment to develop our Interns' skills and identify their career goals.  This is a great opportunity to gain invaluable experience working for an industry-leading biopharmaceutical contract manufacturing organization.

The USPD intern will execute small scale models to generate material to perform Recovery studies in partnership with several 3rd party vendors to evaluate new Centrifugation and Depth Filtration technologies. Additionally, this work will partner with our sister company Fujifilm Irvine to provide an industry study of the media hydrator with the possibility of authorship of a white paper. Lastly, if time permits the establishment of an viral vector for use in Insect Cell Culture applications would be performed.

 

Job activities include cell propagation, set-up and execution of bioreactors, and material harvest using Good Lab Practices (GLP). Data entry and analysis opportunities as well as presenting on lab efforts are included with this project.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have completed freshman year of college.
  • Biological life science or chemical engineering major preferred.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel
