Job Details

At Seer, we are passionate about empowering our customers to expand scientific discoveries and achieve exceptional scientific outcomes. Our team is growing quickly as we develop innovative approaches to solve complex biological questions. And we believe the next frontier in biology is enabled through a clearer and more complete view of the proteome – something that Seer can uniquely deliver. As we build our team, we are looking for collaborative, driven, intellectually curious people who are committed to solving complex challenges. Our culture rewards accountability and cross functional teamwork, because we believe that this enables the kind of breakthrough thinking that will accelerate our mission.

  • Submission of samples to outside vendors for analysis
  • Providing reports to summarize findings from the team’s analytical projects
  • Maintaining and operating laboratory equipment and scientific instrumentation, including advanced analytical equipment
  • Assisting in conducting the design, development, and implementation of physicochemical characterization techniques to support the core platform technology, with specific emphasis on particle characterization and their relationship to their performance in biochemical assays
  • Using data analysis tools to generate insight into our synthetic methodology and reproducibility of materials selected for commercialization
  • Organizing, evaluating, and communicating data in an effective and scientific manner
  • Background & Qualifications
  • College or advanced degree in analytical or physical chemistry, materials sciences, or process chemistry
  • Knowledge and understanding of laboratory terminology
  • Strong written and oral communications skills, with demonstrated experience in cross-functional and timely communication
  • Strong and collaborative work ethic; must be a self-starter and persistent in achieving objectives to support Seer’s scientific and business goals
  • Must work well in a small team setting, with ability to work independently and collaboratively, while meeting scheduled deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly organized, exceptional attention to detail, and strong proficiency in documentation
  • Experience in measuring the DLS, TGA and Zeta potential of particles is desirable

    Company

Our goal is to empower the scientific community with tools that help them to achieve exceptional outcomes by removing the technological barriers to studying the proteome. Our technology is designed to enable breakthrough studies to happen by taking deep proteomics from a pinhole to a panorama.

Over the last 15 years, the fields of genomics and transcriptomics have undergone an explosion in content and discovery, fueled by massively parallel technologies that made large-scale studies possible and tractable. Advancement in those fields have deepened our understanding of biology and ushered in new companies, applications and diagnostics solutions that impact everyday human life.

Similar capabilities have evaded the field of proteomics. As a result, researchers have been forced into a tradeoff: the scale of the study, or the depth of its coverage. Until now. We’re committed to eliminating the obstacles that have kept proteomics’ potential from matching the pace of advancements we’ve seen in other fields. We believe that unbiased, deep, rapid, large-scale proteomics can, and must, become accessible to the broad scientific community so that we may significantly advance our understanding of biology, health, and disease. And this will require solutions that allow researchers to accurately survey and analyze the full diversity of proteins across individuals, over time.
