UNDERGRADUATE Exosomes for Delivery of Biological Medicines INTERN/How will YOU create impact here at USP?
The initiative is the Exploration of Exosomes. The Exosomes for Delivery of Biological Medicines Intern will work to understand the state of the field and looking toward their future role in drug delivery and diagnostics.
Exosomes are a subgroup of nanosized extracellular vesicles enclosed by a lipid bilayer membrane secreted by most eukaryotic cells. Their physiological properties have the potential for applications in drug delivery and diagnostics. This project will consist of compiling research to increase our knowledge of exosomes, the developing manufacturing frameworks, and their applications in advanced therapies, as well as hands-on experience in analytical assessment of commercially available Exosome material. The research would be applied toward developing a roadmap for standardization across materials and analytical methods. A survey of scientists active in the industry would also be developed to support prioritizing future USP activities.
