Drive best-in-class Body Contouring product development strategies to support AbbVie’s pipeline through leadership on own projects and by leading a Lifecycle management team comprised of cross functional engineering disciplines.

Key member of Body Contouring Product Development Team and ensures Lifecycle management strategy is closely aligned with the Body Contouring product development strategy.

A Subject Matter Expert in complex electromechanical medical devices the working in close collaboration with the Develops and implements project management tools and develops training to assure consistency and quality of project deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Leads Lifecycle management function within the Product Development team
  • Functional manager of team with responsibilities for hiring and leadership of the function.
  • Plans and directly manages complex cross functional projects that may include external resources and contracted companies.
  • Formulates Change Plans for a variety of complex design changes, including software, electrical and mechanical changes
  • Develops a budget in collaboration with Product Development Leader, obtains resources from functional areas and stays within the approved funding.
  • Accountable for the success and overall quality of a given project, liaison between internal functions to drive alignment on project scope and execution.
  • Strong emphasis on Design For X (DFX) aspects of design, including User Needs, Assembly, Manufacturing Testing and Supply Chain.
  • Promotes entrepreneurial thinking and makes smart business decisions while balancing risk.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory, health, safety and environmental requirements. Stay abreast of developments in global technical, regulatory and compliance arena and industry practice.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in an engineering design or lifecycle management role
  • Knowledge of complex medical devices and the product development process.
  • Must possess good scientific writing skills and good verbal skills.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of regulatory requirements and familiarity with relevant design methodologies and fabrication technologies.
  • Possess negotiating, influencing, leadership skills. Creative in implementing entrepreneurial thinking and make smart business decisions.
  • Ensure high level of morale in the lifecycle management team.
