What You’ll Be Doing

As part of a team of software engineers, focused on patient engagement, you will leverage the best of what Android has to offer, to design mobile solutions that transform patient experiences and improve treatment outcomes. These products will meet patients where they are at due to your close collaboration with our user-experience team. You will partner with peers to influence the future development process as we scale, to create a high performing operation that is responsive to both business and patient needs.

How You’ll Succeed

  • As an Android developer, you will bring your technical experience to design and build Kotlin/Java applications for Android mobile platforms that exceed product goals.

  • With an approach that embraces failure, and ability to work in ambiguity, you will use your object-oriented development principles in Kotlin/Java to reach creative project solutions to deliver on time.

  • By leveraging your development experience, you will ensure the applications achieve the optimal performance, quality, and responsiveness.

  • Using your problem-solving skills, you will strive to quickly identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs for optimal user experience.

  • With an attention to detail and proactivity you will seek to maintain existing Android applications via debugging and continuous updates, ensuring code quality, organization, and automation.

  • As a superb communicator with strong interpersonal skills, you will work and collaborate effectively on a team including with remote team members, to define, design and ship new features.

  • With a high level of curiosity, you will conduct external research and innovation to evolve existing and create new solutions.

What You Should Bring

  • Proficiency with Object Oriented Programming, multi-threading, data serialization and REST APIs.

  • Familiarity with MVVM and other architectural patterns.

  • Experience with offline storage, threading, and application performance tuning.

  • Experience with Dagger or other methods for dependency injection.

  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services.

  • Understanding of Android’s design principles and interface guidelines.

  • Demonstrated ability to write, perform, or automate unit tests.

  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools and continuous integration (CI/CD).

  • Proven track record of using Agile software development concepts and associated implementations as demonstrated in a fleshed-out portfolio of software development projects.

Your Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related technical field OR

  • High School Diploma/GED with 7+ years of experience in IT technical roles

  • 5+ years of experience as an Android developer

  • Kotlin and Java programming experience

  • Professional experience in delivering software solutions that span the development life cycle, i.e., project initiation, design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, support, and retirement
