Job DescriptionAbout the role:The Senior Program Manager is a recognized expert in managing complex, risky and global business critical projects which have a broad impact on the oncology business unit (OBU) and collaborating departments (e.g. oncology therapeutic area unit [OTAU]).
This position establishes and leads global, multi-disciplinary project teams from initiation to closure to achieve the program’s strategic objectives; supports planning and execution for cross functional team deliverables ; contributes to the development and implementation of project management standards and best practices within OBU; works closely and collaborates with Global Oncology Functions and with other functions within OBU (Regions, LOCs) to create end to end integrated plans.
How you will contribute:Lead the program management for global brand teams (GBTs) with multiple subteams (Marketing, medical affairs, PVPA Region, etc.) and works closely together with the Global Program Brand Leader (GBL), Global Medical Lead (GML) and PVPA Lead to provide coordination for delivery of integrated team deliverables Works closely with GBL, GML and PVPA Leads and is responsible for developing workplans (brand/launch) for successful implementation, identification of interdependencies and connections between departments, risk and change management, and progress tracking.
Partners with the Brand/Asset Lead, Access Lead & Medical Lead GPL and Finance representative to support with financial oversight of the global program budget
Facilitate cross functional GBT meeting management to enable key discussions and decisions within the team, from agenda development through meeting minutes and action items issuance.
Effectively engages with key stakeholders, ensuring positive team dynamics via strong meeting facilitation, implementation of regular team health checks, encouraging a “speak up” culture, and utilization of the collaborative decision-making model
Define and manage critical path, proactively identifies and escalates issues and helps resolve them.
Develops team resources, including project plans and collaboration sites for efficient planning, action item tracking, reference documents, and collaboration on shared documents.
Support the strategic definition, creation, documentation and maintenance of project management standards, processes and tools and develop and promote the use of PM best practices across OBU.
Provides program management support to above-brand priority organizational projects as identified; Generates collaboration, cooperation and communication across functions and regional teams, as relevant, by leveraging the experience and knowledge of a diverse workforce crossing Global Functions, Regions, Local Operating Companies (LOCs), OTAU, etc, ensuring that team goals are achieved
Demonstrate strategic thought and resource planning to support multi-geographic programs and personnel.
Drive the rigor with which we manage programs through the use of project management best practices.
Ensure that brand/launch tactical execution and related budget plans—in collaboration with Finance—are developed and maintained and that information is effectively utilized by GBL and global brand team.
Identify issues and obstacles that could impact the timely completion of oncology brand deliverables and resolve them with team members and/or the relevant functional management.
Bachelor’s degree in science or business-related field
Minimum 5 years of project management experience
Demonstrated previous experiences a project manager leading complex pharmaceutical project deliverables in a multi-disciplinary, global environment
Experience implementing systems and processes for support of cross-functional activities
Demonstrated ability to clearly and concisely communicate/present key information to senior management
Demonstrated ability to build consensus and drive resolution of issues while maintaining positive working relationships across functions
Preferred:
Demonstrated leadership skills managing matrix teams, influencing outcomes and key project decisions
Experience establishing and managing global teams across geographic regions
Oncology commercial launch experience
