Intern, Purification Development

Just is seeking a motivated intern to join a passionate, fast-paced, multidisciplinary team focused on developing low-cost biotherapeutic manufacturing processes to improve worldwide access to biotherapeutics. The successful candidate will have a basic understanding of chemistry, biochemistry, and cell biology as well as an understanding of engineering principles such as fluid dynamics and mass balance. Previous lab experience a plus. The ideal candidate has strong written and verbal communications skills, works well independently and in teams, and constantly looks for ways to improve processes.

Responsibilities:

• Work with a mentor to develop and characterize chromatography processes for use in biotherapeutic purification
• Perform high throughput resin screenings to improve platform purification strategies and enable continuous end-to-end processing for next generation molecules
• Contribute as a team member to shared responsibilities, including general laboratory upkeep, sample submission, and buffer preparation
• Shadow non-chromatography purification unit operations to improve general understanding of the biotherapeutic purification process
• End of internship presentation to the scientific staff

Preferred Qualifications:

• Working towards a BS in Engineering, Biochemistry or related field
• Excellent experimental design and analysis skills

Pluses:

• Experience with and understanding of chromatography principles
• Understanding of DoE principles
• Experience with data analysis and visualization software (e.g. JMP, Tableau)

Note: This is anonsite,paid internship. This position is open to all students legally authorized to work in the United States. We are not able to offer visa sponsorship for internships. While housing is not provided by Just-Evotec Biologics, we make every effort to connect fellow interns to arrange for joint housing and ride sharing.The hiring pay range for this position is $24 to $28 per hourbased on skills, education and experience relevant to the role.
