Job Description

Job Title: Digital & Data Sciences Lead

Location: Thousand Oaks, CA

About the role:

You will support Manufacturing Sciences as a Digital and Data Sciences Lead for the Thousand Oaks site. The responsibility is the support of Manufacturing Operations in their Life Cycle Management activities. You will lead, co-ordinate and build Quality by Design (QbD), process monitoring/trending, Process Analytical Technology (PAT) and digital projects as part of manufacturing process control strategy at the site.

How you will contribute:

  • Lead QbD and digital projects linked to proactive process monitoring, as part of the control strategy from site's process risk assessments and influence the site digital roadmap implementation.
  • Lead the local Continued Process Verification activities (CPV) program.
  • Lead the MSci team as a Subject Matter Expert in the use of modeling and digital tools, PAT exploration/implementation, for investigation support and process improvements.
  • Create product dashboards for site and global review, and coordinate with Global Manufacturing Sciences where applicable.
  • Support annual Quality Product Review as CPV/statistical SME where applicable.
  • Be a technical SME for audit support activities where applicable.
  • Proficient in advanced statistical analysis and interpretation. MVDA knowledge.
  • Proficient in PAT, QbD, CPV, Enhanced and Advanced Process Control, ICH principles and Health Authorities' requirements. Risk management knowledge.
  • Proficient in modeling/statistical tools such as Minitab, Discoverant, SIMCA online and its applications in cGMP environment.

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline with 5+ years of related experience OR MS with 3+ years of related experience.
  • Statistical background and Certified Six Sigma

Important Considerations

At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. You may:

  • Normal office environment; inside working conditions
  • May work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.
  • Will need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.
  • May work in a cold, hot or wet environment.
  • May work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.
  • May require availability outside business hours to accommodate interactions with partners in different time zones.
  • Pace may be fast and job demands may be high.

Base Salary Range: $102,000 to $146,000 . Employees may also be eligible for Short-term and Long-Term Incentive benefits. Employees are eligible to participate in Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Charitable Contribution Match, Holidays, Personal Days and Vacation, Tuition Reimbursement Program and Paid Volunteer Time Off.

The final salary offered for this position may take into account many factors including location, skills, education, and experience.
