Intern – Manufacturing Technical Operations

Just is seeking a highly motivated student intern in the Manufacturing Technical Operations group that desires a significant opportunity to improve worldwide access to biotherapeutics machine learning applications and data visualization. This assignment is expected to be four months in duration. The primary focus of this job is to develop User interface visualization and pipeline connections with cloud computing services to display and analyze machine models using manufacturing process data. The selected candidate will also be responsible for proper documentation and user training to use the developed tools. In addition, the candidate must build user-friendly tools that are easy to update, maintain, and understand by future developers. As a team member, the candidate will gain experience by developing visualization tools to help understand and troubleshoot new manufacturing technologies and equipment, including disposable-based systems and continuous processing technologies for a first-of-its-kind flexible and reconfigurable cGMP manufacturing facility.

Position Requirements:

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in STEM, minored in machine learning or data visualization, or a certified online degree in data science, data analytics, or data visualization.
• Skilled in scientific visualization techniques, including complex and multivariate data abstraction using software such as Tableau or Spotfire.
• Basic knowledge in statistics applied to engineering and data understanding (inferential and descriptive statistics)
• Proficient in python and standard data science packages such as numpy, pandas, sklearn, scipy, etc.
• Some working knowledge of bash scripting and Unix-based systems.
• Keep proper program documentation for cross-functional visualization tools encompassing user needs and requirements.
• Ability to organize, analyze/interpret, and effectively communicate individual results
• Applies knowledge and expertise to solve complex technical problems and learn new skills to fulfill project expectations.
• Can work independently and deliver results within specific timelines; contributes to multi-disciplinary teams at the functional level; mentors and provides technical advice to individuals within the team
• Good interpersonal, team, and collaborative skills are a must
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Skills nice-to-have:

• Proficiency in simple database creation, querying, and manipulation
• Basic Knowledge of Cloud Computing services (AWS EC2 instances, S3 storage, and AWS lambdas preferred).
• Basic knowledge of common machine learning algorithms, specifically PCA and PLS.
• Ability to create sustainable pipeline connections between data visualization tools and cloud computing services for continuous visualization updates.
• Basic knowledge of web app development front-end and back-end (not required, but nice to have). Streamlit for front-end preferred.

While housing is not provided by Just-Evotec Biologics, we make every effort to connect fellow interns to arrange for joint housing and ride sharing.The hiring pay range for this position is $24 to $28 per hourbased on skills, education and experience relevant to the role.
