Strategic Planning & Operations Senior ManagerLiveWhat you will do
Lets do this. Lets change the world. Amgen is searching for a Strategic Planning & Operations Senior Manager to join our team in Thousand Oaks, CA. In this vital role you will partner with the Medical Strategy and Operations (MSO) Head to drive and implement strategies, goals and initiatives. Responsibilities will include:
Functional Strategy:- Partner with the MSO Head and Medical Strategy and Operations team to develop organizational strategy and priorities
- Support the MSO Head in the implementation of organizational plans, engagement & communication plans, day-to-day business operations, preparation of executive dashboards, and presentations to internal and external partners.
- Drive annual goal setting, track & report progress
- Define innovations in process that lead to continuous improvement
- Act as an advisor on key activities and issues
- Partner with the MSO Head and SLT to manage resources, i.e. budget and headcount
- Contribute to high-impact cross-functional/functional initiatives of strategic importance to the business
- Partner with other functions such as Commercial, Development, Human Resources and Compliance to implement organizational priorities
- Provide oversight for select business processes (as applicable)
- Manage and implement any other emerging tasks requested by the MSO Head
- Drive and influence effective decision-making within the Leadership Team and Function.
- Partner with Therapeutic Areas and Regions to define, solicit feedback and support process implementation
- Lead innovation to drive staff engagement, support staff development, establish recognition programs; identify and implement platforms for learning and best practice sharing.

Basic Qualifications:Doctorate degree and 2 years of Operations experience within Biopharma
OrMasters degree and 4 years of Operations experience within Biopharma
OrBachelors degree and 6 years of Operations experience within Biopharma
OrAssociates degree and 10 years of Operations experience within Biopharma
OrHigh school diploma / GED and 12 years of Operations experience within Biopharma
Preferred Qualifications:- MBA, PhD, PharmD, or Masters Degree with 10 years work experience in life sciences or biopharmaceutical industry, preferably with 4 or more years of experience in R&D
- Outstanding leader who has experience leading cross-functional teams and sophisticated programs related to the biopharmaceutical industry
- Excellent conceptual problem-solving skills with ability to bring structure to vaguely defined problems, pragmatically scope problem solving approach, and manage implementation
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills and a decisive yet affiliative leadership style to get results while maintaining relationships
- Strong influencing skills with a demonstrated ability to influence different styles and individuals at different levels in organization
- Demonstrated organization management experience including developing and mentoring staff.

The annual base salary range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $144,758 - $179,620.
