The Specialist, Third Party Manufacturing (TPM) will lead projects and initiatives for the Finished Good/Device team within External and Contract Manufacturing.  Manages the interest and affairs of projects and programs to ensure high quality product is manufactured in compliance with regulations, and released and delivered according to the established forecasts, schedules, and costs.  The position is responsible for leading various teams, providing program management, and is the primary AbbVie representative to coordinate operational activities for products manufactured with the TPM. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and manage programs or projects, related to Third Party Manufacturing, managing scope, cost, time & resources, communication, and risk management through the initiating, planning, and executing phases of the project
  • Proactively collaborates across functional areas to ensure alignment on project timelines and strategies
  • Oversee Third Party Manufacturing operations of device/component/pharma manufacturing to ensure high quality product is delivered according to forecasted demand
  • Support risk reduction initiatives around assurance of supply from Third Party Manufacturers
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and optimization of departmental work processes and collaborates on implementing the solution
  • Builds a strong network within the department and functional areas; interacts well with all levels of the organization.

Qualifications:

  • BS or BA in Science, Engineering, Operations, Business, or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 2 years professional work experience with experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, Planning or Brand preferred
  • Travel may be required up to 10% of the time
  • Project management experience preferred
  • Leadership ability with good communication skills including listening, verbal, presentation and written. Good workload management and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated team player and ability to work in a globally oriented work environment
  • Proficient with common program management communication software tools (e.g. Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and techniques (i.e. plans, schedules, presentations, etc.)
