We are seeking an experienced investigator to drive innovation in the biochemistry of our sample preparation and sequencing technologies. Fields of interest include detection and repair of DNA damage, methods of base modification analysis, and handling of challenging DNA sequences. You will be joining a group that prides itself on maintaining a supportive and collaborative environment. Responsibilities:

  • Design goals and targets in line with business objectives
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across disciplines on multiple projects
  • Use biochemical, biophysical, and sequencing data to develop new methods and reagents
  • Develop biochemical assays
  • Communicate results to management and colleagues across the organization

Requirements:

  • Normally requires a PhD in a scientific discipline and a minimum of 5-8 years related experience; may include post-doctoral experience. Alternatively, Masters with 8-10 years of relevant experience or a B.S. in a scientific discipline with 10-13 years of related experience.
  • Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biology, biophysics, or equivalent
  • Expertise with nucleic acid-modifying enzymes and polymerases
  • Track record of innovation in sample preparation and molecular biology
  • Experience in designing biochemical assays and measuring/fitting kinetic data
  • Curiosity, creativity, and interest in interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Strong background in protein biochemistry preferred
  • Experience with next generation sequencing is desirable
  • Some coding experience is a plus

The level of the position will be commensurate with experience (Senior Scientist - Staff Scientist)

Salary Range:

$123,300.00 - $166,800.00
