Job Scope:

The role of Business Development Manager is to drive and support sales efforts in a given territory by implementing the sales/marketing strategies for GenScript products and services. The Business Development Manager will use his/her knowledge of science and the business including corporate contacts to develop and deliver profitable initiatives and build sales.

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Work with Sales and Technical Support teams to design strategies of business growth through building of scientific and business credibility to customers and collaborators.

2. Grow business and build long-term relationship with existing customers and develop new business opportunities. 

3. Facilitate and ensure high quality and timely communication with customers, for both business and scientific dialogs.

4. Develop channels of business intelligence and provide critical information and market trend analysis to superiors and colleagues on regular basis.

5. Other responsibilities related to development and improvement of the regional business as required. 

6. Travel as needed (minimally 30%).

7. Ensure profitability of business activities by reviewing return of investments with superior on quarterly basis.

Requirements

 · PhD degree in scientific disciplines majoring in life science area; or Master’s degree with at least 1 year of sales experience

· Knowledge of the Biological and CRO or CDMO market or general biotech industry. Emphasis on Protein, Peptide, Antibody and Cell Line Products/Services preferred

· Ability to withstand pressure and operate effectively in an international business environment and the ability to succeed in such an environment

· Ability to accurately forecast sales within territory on a weekly basis

· Good verbal and written command of the English language. Prefer multi-lingual communication skills: German, French, Spanish, Italian, or Mandarin. Excellent communication and presentation skills

· Team player. Strong analytical and time management skills
