Job Details

Purpose:

Provides in-depth technical expertise & direction in the network engineering area, with knowledge of WAN Optimization and Network Analysis applications.

                                     

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with other network engineers developing a WAN Optimization strategy at a site and datacenter level
  • Develop configurations and engineer the WAN Optimization capabilities at Abbvie
  • Create change controls utilizing Service Now for managed network services to implement
  • Be an escalation point for Operations to troubleshoot application degradation that may be due to WAN Optimization
  • Be able to read and understand packet captures from several sources (server tcpdump, switch mirrors, tap feeds) for troubleshooting
  • Ability to ask appropriate questions to help drive resolution of any application or network outages
  • Utilize Wireshark, NetScout and Riverbed to analyze Enterprise level applications
  • Lead troubleshooting sessions with application and business owners utilizing a standard process
  • Be an escalation point for Operations to troubleshoot business outages requiring packet analysis toolsets

Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s Degree with 6 years’ experience or equivalent experience; Master’s Degree with 5 years’ experience; PhD with 0 years’ experience.
  • 3-5 Yr Experience in Packet Analysis with Wireshark, Riverbed or NetScout
  • 3-5 Yr Experience in WAN Optimization technologies (Riverbed or Silver Peak)
  • Experience in Python is a plus
  • Experience in Network Automation is a plus
  • 5-7 Years in Enterprise Networking a requirement
