Job Description.
About the role:As a member of Takeda Oncology, your work will contribute to our bold, inspiring vision: We aspire to cure cancer. As part of the U.S. Oncology Field Medical, you will report to Senior Director Field Medical, support the Colorectal Cancer (CRC)Franchise, and partner with respective Scientific Director and cross-functionally within Takeda.
How you will contribute:Provide supervision, direction, guidance, and support to a team of 6-10 Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) in an assigned region/national within the US
Maintain clinical, scientific, and technical expertise in relevant molecule and disease state areas that enables scientific discussion.
Identify and lead special projects aimed at the improvement and operational excellence of the MSL team.
Assist with development of program content and materials as relates to relevant molecules/products.
Represent MSL team in various internal and external meetings, providing clinical and operational expertise and insights regarding relevant molecules/products.
Act as a member of one or more internal cross-functional teams as assigned
Advanced degree in clinical/scientific discipline (MD, PhD, PharmD, or DNP)
Minimum of 7 years Medical Affairs experience, with 4+ years Field Medical experience
Experience in Oncology therapeutic area inclusive of clinical practice, clinical trial experience, or track record within a pharmaceutical Medical Affairs organization
Experience leading and partnering on cross-functional teams
Direct personnel management experience strongly desired (especially of field-based employees in a Medical Affairs role)
Track record of collaboration across complex organizations (preferably including pharmaceutical industry functions such as Marketing, Sales, Discovery, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical, Legal, etc.
Strong interpersonal skills, presentation skills, and analytical ability
Demonstrated ability to lead/coach peers and subordinates
Competence with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, etc
Ability to work independently in a field-based setting
Working knowledge of Regulatory/Compliance guidance (including OIG & PhRMA Code) relevant to industry interactions with customers
Ability to work across geographic areas with sensitivity to cultural differences
Ability to assess business needs and apply process and systems-based solutions, work closely with USMAO leadership to take initiatives from concept to completion
Strategic thinking – ability to approach specific issues/problems with understanding of the larger context
Oncology Experience and Colorectal Cancer (CRC)Field - preferred
Travel Requirements:
Approximately 50% travel or more
Ability to travel to various meetings or client sites, including overnight trips.
Some international travel may be required.
Have a valid driver license and safety record

Base Salary Range: $160,300 to $229,000 based on candidate professional experience level. Employees may also be eligible for Short-term and Long-Term Incentive benefits as well. Employees are eligible to participate in Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Charitable Contribution Match, Holidays, Personal Days & Vacation, Tuition Reimbursement Program and Paid Volunteer Time Off. The final salary offered for this position may take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
