The Associate Director of Medical Affairs assists in the development of medical strategy, planning, and execution of medical affairs activities at Regeneron. This hire provides scientific and/or medical expertise by thoroughly understanding Infectious Disease or having a background in Internal Medicine and serves as a scientific/medical resource. The Associate Director will work in a multifunctional, matrix organization, working closely with colleagues within the medical affairs group (including field medical, medical operations, medical education, global medical communications, and HEOR) as well as with those in research & development, commercial, access & reimbursement, and patient advocacy. Actively participates in and contributes to the cross-functional Medical Product Team.

As an Associate Director in Medical Affairs, a typical day may include the following:
  • Maintains deep scientific and medical knowledge of COVID-19 and Ebola Virus Disease, an understanding of patient and physician interactions and clinical decision making and impact

  • Identifies and contributes to data analyses, data interpretation and publication development in collaboration with publications lead and biostatistics. Compliantly engages external and internal authors during development of congress presentations and manuscripts and during internal review processes working closely with the Publication Manager

  • Contributes to the development and management of appropriate medical affairs research programs, including collaborative studies, expanded access programs, and company-sponsored studies

  • Supports development of Medical Information Letters and the Global Value and AMCP Dossiers and participates in evaluation of investigator-initiated study applications

  • Participates in scientific engagement with external communities in order to educate and advance scientific and medical understanding of COVID-19, Ebola virus disease, and other infectious diseases, the management of disease, standards of patient care, and roles of our medicines

  • Helps to develop medical content for congresses, symposia, and advisory boards and leads or participates in such activities

  • Presents scientific/medical materials to diverse audiences (e.g., physicians, pharmacists, marketing/medical agencies, and other key stakeholders) in meetings, including payer, advisory, and/or consulting settings

  • Assesses medical education needs and works with Medical Education colleagues to review internal and external educational activities and Assists in medical monitoring of post-registrational trails and in the review documents related to interpretation of patient level data where necessary

To be considered for this role, you must have an M.D. (or equivalent), PhD, PharmD, MPH, MS, MHA with expertise in infectious disease. We are seeking a minimum of 5 years’ experience in an academic and/or industry setting with clinical, research and/or drug-development experience in infectious disease. Experience in the pharmaceutical industry and/or medical affairs is desirable. Demonstrates strong written, interpersonal, and excellent verbal communication skills. We need an individual with strategic agility and ability to work with multiple collaborators. Outstanding work ethic and integrity, including high ethical and scientific standards. Strong interpersonal skills particularly motivational, negotiation, listening, judgment, analytic, and conflict management skills. Level commiserate with years of experience.

Salary Range (annually)

$165,900.00 - $270,700.00
