  • The individual will interact with external resources including the proposal, oversight, and prioritization of new small molecule targets.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Candidates must have experience in designing and executing multistep synthesis of complex organic molecules using modern techniques in organic chemistry

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a thorough understanding of synthetic methods and reaction mechanisms are desirable
  • Familiarity with chemical drawing programs (i.e. ChemDraw) and chemistry literature searching software (i.e. ReAxys, SciFinder) to design and plan synthetic routes
  • Good oral/written communication skills and organizational skills with the desire to work and contribute to a collaborative team environment are required

EDUCATION

  • Candidates must have a Ph.D. in organic chemistry with an additional 0-5 years of related industrial synthetic/medicinal-chemistry research experience OR an M.S. in organic chemistry with 5-10 years of related experience.
