A portfolio of capabilities across a range of activities including Omnichannel, Marketing Excellence, Diversity Inclusion & Belonging, Learning and Performance, and Congress Excellence make up the foundation of the Global Customer Capabilities. This portfolio is evergreen and changes continuously with the needs of the business and dynamic environment in which we operate.

Within the GCC organization is a new team called the Delivery & Impact Team that is accountable for ensuring the implementation and ongoing success across the capability portfolio. The Delivery & Impact Teams remit includes the following:

INTEGRATE THE CAPABILITIES: Connect the dots to amplify the collective power of Amgen to drive results.

MEASURE THE CAPABILITIES: Enable the organization to employ an Impact over Output mindset.

ELEVATE THE CAPABILITIES:Develop and own the narratives that weave capabilities together into a meaningful story

INVEST IN THE CAPABILITIES: Create a culture of strategic investing through transparency and accountability.

In this vital role you will ensure that GCC is successful in achieving set objectives based on a prioritized agenda, and that it is communicating the role of GCC appropriately across the organization. This position will enable this purpose through owning the day-to-day budget operations and financial planning cycles; supporting the development and enhancement of fit-for-purpose metrics and narratives regarding investment and trade-off decisions; supporting special projects prioritized by GCC; and forming strong partnerships with our cross-regional and cross-functional partners. This Senior Associate will be part of a team that builds the foundation of GCCs accountabilities and shares its capabilities and successes with the organization. The key aspects of the role will involve supporting the key investments, budget operations, communications, and metrics generation for GCC. The successful candidate will be able to pivot to new tasks quickly, have strong critical thinking and analytical skills, works well with ambiguity, and is a strong communicator.

  • Budget Operations and coordination across the GCC team, including financial planning cycles, Anaplan Submissions, Live Spend tracking, and general business and financial responsibilities.
  • Support the team in driving adoption of rigorous approach to defining clear and measurable goals by capability and develop a reporting mechanism that provides leaders and decision-makers actionable insight into the effectiveness of work being performed by their teams over time.
  • Play a key role in developing compelling narratives around metrics, insights, and investments to aid GCCs leadership team in making data-driven investment decisions across all capabilities.
  • Build an effective network with key partners including Global/Regional/Local teams, Finance, and Commercial Data and Analytics
  • Create strong relationships with GCC leadership team to ensure you understand with the needs, priorities, and financial strategy of each pillar.
  • Minimal travel required

Basic Qualifications:

Masters degree

OR

Bachelors degree and 2 years of Finance, Transformation and/or business experience

OR

Associates degree and 6 years of Finance, Transformation and/or business experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Finance, Transformation and/or business experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong financial acumen with a key grasp of budget cycles, financial planning, and strategic investment
  • Ability to design impactful metrics, and translate these metrics into meaningful insights
  • Exhibiting the ability to create compelling messaging that is customizable to a given audience to ensure the narrative resonates
  • Ability to take complex problems or tasks and develop an actionable solution with little oversight
  • Strong bias for action and ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to exercise strong judgment and live up to the highest ethical standards
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to build productive partnerships and collaborate effectively in a matrix organization

The annual base salary range for this opportunity in the U.S. is provided below.
