CARR Director Operations (full-time in office, Clearwater, FL)

What you’ll do:

1. Lead site operations (manufacturing, engineering, project mgmt.) for our Clearwater, FL headquarters to achieve growth targets, deliver products on time and within budget, and implement new product manufacturing while achieving high-quality standards and customer satisfaction.

2. Ensure optimum utilization of overall capacity within the facility and drive processes to improve the team’s productivity.

3. Establish and review KPIs thoughtfully to gain insights into the team’s performance and inspire operational excellence through continuous improvement.

4. Work closely with cross-functional leaders (marketing, sales, strategy, finance, & supply chain) to form and execute a vision for operations to support profitable and sustainable growth. Close partnership with finance will be key to delivering financial results.

5. Assume a hands-on style to operational leadership that emphasizes teamwork and collaboration with a strong customer focus. Inspire accountability for results (safety, quality, efficiency/cost, and timely shipments) and support developing individuals to assume greater responsibility and personal contribution. 6. Maximize operational efficiency – create a culture of continuous improvement where all team members are empowered to effect change.

7. Focus on business P&L and contribute to Executive Leadership Team (ELT) effectiveness for the business’s overall health.

8. Your leader in this role will be Joel Williams (President of CARR).

Experience most likely to have prepared you for this role:

a) A Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business, Engineering or relevant discipline is desired, MBA is a plus

b)10+ years’ experience leading Engineering or Operations, including people management and budget responsibility.

c) A proven track record of identifying and improving operations (using Lean and Continuous Improvement methodologies) to deliver improved margins

d) Experience building and leading Operations programs and teams; experience in capital equipment, or complex systems manufacturing is desired

e) Understanding of and experience with cGMP regulations as pertains to suppliers to the Bioprocessing industry

f) Proficient in leveraging data/insights to identify opportunities,  inform decisions, and design efficient team processes

g) Strong communicator (verbal/written) that presents complex material in a concise, compelling, and positive way

h) Professional demeanor with a strong work ethic

i) Live and lead in a way consistent with Barry-Wehmiller cultural commitments:

ADA Requirements:

  • Typically sits, grasps items, and performs keyboarding for regular operation of a computer.
  • Stand, walk, bend, reach or otherwise move about regularly.
  • Lift, move, or otherwise transfer items up to 30 lbs. occasionally.
  • Occasional exposure to typical manufacturing production physical hazards.
  • Domestic and International travel by air and/or car – ~10-15% of the time.
