POSITION SUMMARY

GreenLight Biosciences is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Scientist to join the CMC Drug Product Development team. This role is an exciting opportunity to develop new LNP-mRNA formulations to help advance the company’s pipeline and RNA platform technology. The candidate must have a strong background and understanding in nucleic acid delivery, preferably with mRNA-LNP formulations.  Experience with drug delivery and general biopharmaceutical sterile drug product development is highly desirable.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, coordinate, execute and analyze nucleic acid delivery formulations for multiple disease applications, including vaccines and gene therapies.
  • Develop appropriate analytical methods in collaboration with analytical development scientists to develop and characterize novel formulations.
  • Develop nucleic acid encapsulation strategies, including scale-up of mixing and further processing from bench scale to GMP manufacturing scale.
  • Work as part of an integrated multidisciplinary team developing novel formulations and delivery.
  • Employ statistical analysis of data in experimental reports and data summaries.
  • Communicate research and development findings internally and externally.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ph.D. in chemistry/chemical engineering, biochemistry/biophysics, pharmaceutical chemistry, or a related field with 5+ years of experience.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in nucleotide delivery.
  • Strong background in biochemistry, biophysics, or pharmaceutical chemistry
  • In-depth knowledge of optimizing cellular uptake, endosomal release and translation,  including tissue targeting are highly desirable.
  • High-throughput screening experience and, design of experiment, Strong data analysis and experimental design skills, experience with JMP is a plus.
  • Track record of creative problem-solving skills to troubleshoot experimental challenges.
  • The successful candidate must take accountability and possess strong communication skills, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to team success.
  • Ability to collaborate in a dynamic and fast-paced environment while prioritizing and handling multiple projects or activities. 
  • Must be curious, open to learning, able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience with good documentation practices, good laboratory practices and an understanding of quality control practices/strategies is highly desired.
