Join Takeda as a Research Associate II where you will perform research assignments and be responsible for high-throughput antibody production. You will also work on the discovery and engineering of therapeutic biologics including antibodies, antibody fragments, and fusion proteins. As part of the Biotherapeutic Engineering team, you will report to Scientist II, Biotherapeutic Engineering, where you will interpret and communicate results within the team and with cross-functional project team members.
How you will contribute:- Independently conduct high-throughout antibody expression in yeast and purification using an automated system. Characterize the quantity and quality of the protein produced using a spectrometer and SDS PAGE.
- With support, execute discovery and lead optimization projects using display platform technologies with high quality and efficiency.
- Handle large datasets and analyze the data. Identify hits based on affinity, specificity, and potency.
- Isolate DNA/RNA, analyzing sequencing data.
- Thoroughly document experiments and communicate results within the team and cross-functional project teams.
- Initiate routine problem investigation and recommend solutions.
- Demonstrate technical knowledge of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry.
- Understand antibody structure and function, and the biologics discovery process.
- MS in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related life science, or
- BS with 2+ years relevant experience (or equivalent) and some laboratory experience.
- Experience with protein expression and purification and an understanding of protein purification techniques is preferred.
- Skills in molecular biology including PCR, DNA/RNA isolation and purification, and cloning are highly desired.
- Experiences in antibody discovery and engineering are preferred.
- Experience with high-throughput antibody binding screens (ForteBio Octet, ELISA, flow cytometry) is highly desired.
- Experience with FACS sorting is highly desired.
- Experience with library construction is desired.
- Experience with yeast or other display library screening is preferred.
- Experience with graphing software such as GraphPad Prism and Excel is desired.
- Outstanding organizational skills and experience in preparing and presenting scientific data are preferred.

Base Salary Range: $63,700.00 to $81,900.00, based on the candidate's professional experience level. Employees may also be eligible for Short-term and Long-Term Incentive benefits as well. Employees are eligible to participate in Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Charitable Contribution Match, Holidays, Personal Days & Vacation, Tuition Reimbursement Program, and Paid Volunteer Time Off. The final salary offered for this position may take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
